Ok remind me as things have changed a little since my 1st son joined.  Is bootcamp 8 or 9 weeks. Another event in coming in July and I..PRAY.. I don't have a conflict.   Chrissy what day did your child leave for BC?

valtmeri,

The Navy Lodge was great. It's a no frills kind of place , but clean and most important clase to the base. It does not have a full kitchen, maybe some do, but ours had a small fridge, microwave and coffeepot. They give out "breakfast to go" in the mornings, which consist of a bagel, creamcheese, a granola bar and oj. Which is nice for the day of the graduation when you leave really early.

CT Mom -- I will tell my son to be sure to give a encouraging word (or at least an encouraging glance) to the new guys on that day. That first week is awful.

Helen, I think we stayed there too.  But I'm trying to find all that info I saved.  Looking on google maps as to where it's located I'm almost positive we this is where we stayed.  Rooms were big and kitchen had everything you'd need.  I know you have allergies but they do have a nice food area even at night they have snacks out.  If you say you are there for PIR they will give you a discount. They will also provide you with a several page handout about what's in the area But book early as they go fast.

Glad for the letter.  So the RDC finally let him write!!??
