Hi CT Moms!  I am new to the group, live in New Milford, and my son is at boot camp.  He's been there since 2/22/11. My heart goes out to the moms of sailors on the uss enterprise.  I hope with new command in place they will remain safe.

Oh my goodness Sailormom. I know what it's like. My son is on the Enterprise and was heavily involved in the Pirate "problem" last week. No communication for almost a week. Not that he talks to me but my DIL.
Could be that maybe the sailors don't have low moral due to this they could be really mad at the guys for putting the ship in that situation. Might just be really PO'D but it will be hard getting used to new people.

Yes, GinosMom jumping the gun a little on where to stay.  Things can happen in BC and your son could get..set back a week or so from what you think.  You'll get a letter when the PIR  time gets close.

Thanks for the comments on where to stay, I changed to the Navy Lodge, but i don't care either, i just can't wait to get there to see him.I went on youtube and watched a few of the ceremonies. I only could watch a few, i couldn't stop from tearing up. They all look so great! Makes me so proud already.

Comment by chrissy099 on February 15, 2011 at 4:09pm
well thank you all for the input, i think that i would want to maybe stay at the Navy Lodge then, seems to be closer. I'm able to cancel the reservations so that is good. I really don't want to sleep in a musty room either yuck! I don't even want to get into the "bar crowd" side of it LOL. Thanks
