OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
I will soon be the mom of 2 sailors. Who would have thought. Yup, talking about Kyle. He's jumping on the boat. No pun intended.

Sheila - I hope you feel stronger each day. Recovering from surgery is difficult; especially when it's a tough year. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Where is Vinnies? I'm so new to all of this. Can't you tell? LOL Just in case I don't get on before Thursday, I'm thankful for this list. There are so many questions and fears - it's just beginning for us. I hope everyone has a peaceful and safe Thanksgiving. I'll keep all your families in my thoughts.

My daughter, Domeneca is prepping for the ASVAB. She still has her heart set on enlisting. She'll be 18 next October. She mentioned working with a recruiter over the summer to get in the swing of things?

That sounds like fun.

Thanks for the welcome! I love reading each post and hearing about your children! I'm so thankful to have found all of you. It's comforting to know that you have all walked this path and are here for support.

My daughter, Domeneca, still has her heart on enlisting. I'm so proud of her. She's at the nervous stage where she realizes what she's getting into but she's proud to be taking that path. I'll support her all the way. Her biggest worry right now is the "peanut butter shot". lol

Donna - I hope your sinuses feel better. Those are the worst!
