OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

LoL Helen, it was an amazing sight the first time.

Flyersnut,There is an  group called Sassy that adopts Sailors at Sea it was started back in Jan by a group of women on my son's ship.  We were all first time deployment mothers and realized (from our kids) that many sailors don't get any mail etc from home.  We are always looking to add ships to our list so that we can support them. Here's the link http://www.besassy.org/ if you want to find out about it.  Do you mind if I give your info or you can too.

My son will come home for a week, but at least his C school is close enough for a reasonable day's drive, so we can visit now and then.
