Wow Sheila that's great! I think Ryan is planing on coming home but don't know for sure. Pray his name gets taken off the Afghanistan list. It really bothers Kyle that Ryan won't be here for Thanksgiving. But that's just something we all need to get used to,but I think the first missed holiday is the worst. Anyway I need to find some Navy clothing since I have none and want to "fit in" at the parade.
Sue M, Janice is right the next 8/9 weeks will fly by. You'll be in Chicago before you know it. Do you know what Rate your son is going to be. We have a few Corpsmen, an AT and a CTR. Oops Donna what is your son?
Have a good Friday

Hi Ladies,
I'm back. What a nice relaxing time I had. Foliage was good in some areas and past in others but that's New England for ya. Did some poking around in the unique shops and lots of eating relaxing and some drinking. It was good for me to just get away and not think of things. As my girl friend an I were driving through this little VT town I happend to spot a service flag hanging in a window with 2 stars. It was a little ramshack of a house. Never expected to see a flag.
Kim and Donna I'm glad you each had/are having a good time with your boys. I love San Franciso Donna, keep wanting to go back but haven't made it yet. Janice sounds like you're going to town on the bracelets. Are you/we going to have them all Military motif? I like the idea of the star w/anchor. Any news from Mikey?
I guess my younger son just realized that Ryan won't be with us for Thanksgiving. He has the biggest heart because he told me he wanted to get Ryan an early Christmas present and buy a ticket for Ryan to come home Thanksgiving. Aww.
Marlene I would be interested in the USO stuff also. Sorry you missed the Cracker Barrel 4hr breadfastthon.
Sheila..slow down you work way to much.
Ok, the 25th. what time is this thing and Donna and Sheila can I ride with you?
Have to do laundry now oh how fun.

Nope, he can't go any place until his name comes off the IA list in November (kinda like he's committed to it until then) although I felt like.. having.. him committed for volunteering for afghanistan. I just keep my fingers crossed and pray that they don't send him over.
I'm going to VT on Wed afternoon and coming back Sat. I'v never left my 16yr old alone before so will be worried the won't get up on time to get to school. The town I'm in doesn't have cell service so I can't call. I'm staying at a B&B so maybe they will let me use their phone. Hope the foliage is still good. Have a safe trip

Oh Donna I know that you must have been disapointed not being able to see Bryan yesterday. I hope you're having a great time today.
Kim I worried also but Ryan told me 'it was nothing" so unless something major goes wrong he'll do fine. After battle stations he got to make phone calls for 2 hrs. So hope your cell phone is charged. Are you driving out to Chicago? Oh I forgot to mention that Dick Cheney was at their battlestations and his group go their caps from him. also had pictures taken but no pictures of the day were given out. Bummer sort of.
I was just told that Ryan missed out.last week in going to Japan for 6mo- 1yr. Seems my wonderful son is listed as an IA alternate for doing a tour in Afghanistan and his name doesn't get taken off the list till sometime in November. OH GOD!! Japan would've been much better. Darn kid had to jump at the first thing. AHHH.
Janet and Sheila we are waitng for the NYC update.

I don't think Sheila goes..anyplace..without her camera. So we're expecting pictures of the day. Are you walking or on the float? Kim you're not alone I'm working tomorrow also. Must be nice to get a holiday off.

Donna, so far sounds like you're enjoying yourself. I don't think many of the young guys would put on a necklace. If he does, get a picture :) ahh Kodak moments...Does his ship come in today? I can't imagine the excitment you must have. Have a super time.
Well, off to get some cider and apples.
