You know when you are missing a sailor WHEN:

-You sleep with your cell phone in case he calls in the middle of the night,

-The mailman knows you b/c you are always waiting for him to come,

-You are so frequent at the post office, the staff knows you by name,

-You make friends with strangers online just b/c they are in the same situation as you and are the only ones that can truly understand what you are going through,

-You find yourself checking your Facebook every 15 minutes,

-The highlight of your day is getting a letter that was mailed a week ago,

-If you don't get a letter then the highlight of your day is writing a letter that he will get in a week,

-You get excited about unknown or Chicago phone numbers calling you,

-You find yourself randomly crying and you have no idea why,

-You stay on the internet for hours searching for anything and everything about the military,

-And you are reading this and smiling b/c you know it's so true!!

Found this and thought it was cute! I was BEYOND excited that I got to hear my fiance's voice today!! I was so happy to know that he is ok and doing fine with everything! Now if July 1st would just hurry up!!!

Got my call this morning too!!!
Happy day! He sounded great!!!! He knows and works with sillygoose's boyfriend. I was thrilled to make the connection. Told me that sailorwife's hubby is in div 215 but came and told him we had been talking on here. He, also said he would probably have until 8 pm on that Friday night but would be getting their order soon and then he would know for sure!!! I think things are good. Said he had IT one time for something he did wrong with his job and another time entire div had it because of something somebody else did. lol. He had 2 wisdom teeth pulled and 1 cut out last week but is doing good! Thrilled we all got calls today. I hope sillygoose got one!! Where are you, girl????

Moliana, isn't that funny. I asked my son if he knew when he was leaving and he said NO. they didn't tell him a time and they probably don't even know yet never mentioned the liberty thing.   I scratch my head.

Sorry you're not going to make it. It's truly something to experience.

Yup this is call day. My son said it's for those who haven't had the chance to call. They got to spend a couple hrs at the NEX. Keeping my fingers crossed that everyone gets a to talk with their SR. It' was everyones "treat" for the day. Mine chatted for a whole 52 min as he munched on a candy bar. Now thanks to reading all your posts as to what everyone's SR's have been doing I knew what questions to ask.  Don't feel so in the dark now.  I again asked him to write me too.  He was sad the first mail day. the Guy in the next bunk got 12 letters. He never admits his feelings so that comment was huge for him.

Ok folks ready for this.  He has the laundry job.  how funny is that. never could get him to do his own.  He washes, dries etc everyones dirty smelly cloths.   This job keeps him busy he can't fold his own stuff so his bunk mate has to do it. Never could get him to fold the laundry either.  So that's still the same. lol

He said he's happy that's another good thing.

Have a great weekend all.

Oh and we talked about it and decided I'm not going up for PIR.  He'll only have liberty until about 8pm that night and leaves early the next morning for A school in SC.

He sounds good, passed his swim test but didn't do so great on the run for PT.  He says they've only had IT a couple of times and he hasn't been the reason lol.  I love my son!
