They all get a phone call right? And hes mentioned in his letters that I better answer my phone because he is really looking forward to talking to me. So I'm pretty sure I will be the one to get the phone call. I'm the only number he has memorized. So hopefully =)
Made an appointment to get my military id fixed. They could only get me in on Tuesday! The day the boys get their calls! My husband said they do not get to start calling until 2pm there time and 12 pm my time. So I made an appointment early in the morning so I will get home before that. Driving through the redwood trees makes it so I do not have reception. So I'm going to drive straight back to make sure. I can't believe its so close =)
Just a warning that as much as you want to get that "I'm a Sailor Call" sometimes they do not call, my son did not, he suddenly had brain freeze and called a number that I have not had for at least 6 years, he called other people - though none of his siblings. I want for all of you to get the call but if you do not do not be sad as you will be seeing them soon and that is what matters the most. I do not want to be a downer right now but be realistic, if you sit and wait all day and it does not come how are you going to feel. Stay busy and if you get the call, feel blessed, if you miss it you will still hear their voice.
Right now you are on a high as you are so close to PIR, make a list of what you need to take, double check it, put a folder together with your reservations, gate pass, make sure you have id, insurance, car registration if driving - and anything else you are taking. It will be here before you know it.
just saw this on the FB page. i know I had not heard if they were moving over on Friday or not but according to this they are.
Recruit Training Command has changed the departure procedures for Sailors being sent to A School. For recruits going to A School in Great Lakes; they will check in immediately following graduation where they will follow the schools policy on liberty. Sailors not staying at Great Lakes will fly out on Saturday depending on flight availability. For those few that do not fly out on Saturday, they will fly out on Sunday.
I wonder if my son gained weight! It wasn't an easy thing for him to do at all. I can't wait to see him. Jules, I feel the same way, nervous at the same time!!
I cannot find my burgundy scarf! I am hoping I can find it before I leave!
This time a week from tomorrow ladies, we are going to be in there, waiting to see our boys!!! I'm getting nervous and tearing up just thinking about it! :)
