Well ladies, it's Wednesday and I still haven't gotten a phone call. I hope he's ok. Every day that goes by with no call makes me worry more. :(

I read a post on another PIR site that they wore red ribbon's (small and pinned on) to show they were PIR moms. another group had the red ribbon but wore silver to show that they were one division. How about us doing something like that? Red for PIR and What color for our Divsion. We would all have to make our own if we choose to do this. I think yellow because yellow flowers mean friendship or white for secret admires. LOL We have admired each other here and we all admire our guys.
So what ya all think.
BTW I got my waterproof sheeting yesterday. It was $12.99 a yard but the 40% coupon really helped. Make sure you mark one side of the waterproof for the up and the other for down and don't roll it because then the dirt will get on the inside. Fold it neatly.

Oh, my I just got a chance to post here. In the last 3 days I've had 11 hours of sleep. But the best part of the weekend so far is Ian called us!!!!!!!!!!! He has that cold and thinks he might have pink eye. I forgot to tell him to have them look at his ears. sure hope they do that. Anyway he says he had to get a filling. (Hum, saw dentist in Feb and he said everything we go to go. HUM) Ian said it wasn't to bad. He said that the folks getting the wisdom teeth have to stay in bed for 2 days.but the are allowed to get up for hygiene and meals. He was glad his were gone already.Ian's GF was with me when he called so had my phone on speaker and then we made a 3 way call with my hubby who was with my other 2 so Ian got to talk to all of us. YEAH!

Well bed is calling me. Happy Mother's Day All!

Great News Ladies...ZACH CALLED!!! We did a 3-way phone call with his Girlfriend. He is doing well. Its everything he expected. He said he only has 7 minutes to make his bunk, brush teeth, dress and shave!!! He has passed all of his tests so far. He doesn't know if he is a GRAD N GO yet. He did say that all he wanted to do after grad is eat good food and hangout at the hotel so that makes it pretty easy.

I want to wish everyone a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY...My gift came early today...MY PHONE CALL!!!

Everyone have a safe weekend and I hope everyone gets to hear their son's voice as well.

Thanks for the information Zmom. I'm hoping to get a call tomorrow. I have so many questions. The plan was for Wayne to go Pensacola for Aviation Mechanics and his letter yesterday said he's now doing VBSS - he called it pirate killers...hmmmm. Not liking that idea. He waited over a year to get into bootcamp for aviation and now he's changing his field.

He told me in his letter that the food was actually good so it sounds like they are being fed well. One thing I don't have to worry about. : )

Joyce...

Welcome to the group. I called my son's recruiter about the 930 division because I didn't understand why Zach would be in that division either having no expreience really in an instrument or marching. His recruiter said it was because of his scores. Zach's job is a MMS, which means he is on a SUB. He will head off to Groton, CT after bootcamp for SUB school and A school. i have received 2 letters from Zach and hopefully the phone call will come by Sunday.

Does anyone know how the klids are placed in their respective divisions? My son although very talented with the guitar and smart, has never participated in band or anything like it in High School yet he's in this division where I notice other kids have that experience. Kind of curious. My son at the outset had selected his job in the Aviation Mechanic field but in his latest letter home said he wants to or has changed to VBSS (Vessel Board Search and SeiZure) which from what I've learned through my research is a special forces job. Kinda nervous about that but my husband likes the idea.....he's a cop :O)
