WEll Hello all!
I just made a quick phone call to the Recruit Training Command. Brian was a very nice voice who answered. I explained that I was a dumb mom of a recruit and had a couple of questions. He said we have no dumb moms so I corected myself to being a clueless newbee. He laughed. I said my son is set to PIR in June and I just had a quick question.
ME: "Where's our Mail? just kidding LOL I mean phone calls? just kidding LOL I My serious question is Is Pir held indoors or outdoors?"

Brian: "they are always indoors."
Me: "thank you. Is it air conditioned if need?"
Brian"Yes, there is."

Me: "Well, thank you Brian for answering all my questions. Now if you see my son tell him I said Hi and to write."
Brian: " Okay" with a chuckle.

No names were exchanged nor ship/div to protect our recruits LOL

Well, Did anyone else peek?? (Recruit Training Command website) WE ahve done it we are no Longer the last Graduating Division. Which means we best stop sitting by the phone and stalking the mail carrier because we've got to get packing started! :D Oh what to wear? I saw a nice top at Marshall's yesterday lacey with a solid under it, mid lenght sleeve. Thought Hum. It was white. I am thinking of checking out TJ Maxx tomorrow since I'm off. Then again I was looking thru my closet and said HUM. I will be going to get the waterproof fabric for sure.
Navy lodge is where we are booked Anyone else book yet?

Hey I just heard from a father of the young man. who left the same day (on the same flight) as Ian. He is in a division that is grad on 6/4/10. His dad said that this was the first call home they had gotten. He talked to his dad and then was able to call his mom. He had about 15-20 minutes. His dad was kind enough to say our groups should be coming up to making calls soon. He will pray we get a call soon. He said Not to worry they are just busy. I don;t know about you but it made me feel really good to know about his call.

Mr Mailman Bring me some mail make the mail that comes from Chicago. Make it a long letter with happy all over. So I know my recruit is alive. " (sung to Mr Sandman.)

Please feel free to add a verse. Maybe we can get a whole N4M song together by PIR. LOL

Okay so I loaded a photo from High school Marching Band. I hope all like it. Thought the little boys shows who we sent the Navy a few weeks ago and the big guys are the men they are working hard to become. If you want I'll change the photo. (BTW my son is the one in the blue shirt minus the Sousa next to the little guy. He had to lead him in marching that day. It was so fun to watch them.)

First I want to say Thank you mail carrier.

Hey all!- got a call at work. Hubby was telling me misc stuff and then he says well the mail came and we got a letter from Ian. Like it was nothing!! LOL it was address to MOM AND DAD and then our address.. He sounded good. being an all male home (except mom) He says the girls wont stop talking and the most of the guys in the div are cool. It's been pretty good so far.
(Side Note:but remember he has had me for a mom and I was the meanest in the town we live in LOL)
Tuesday they were gonna have the swim test adn weds was the PFA test (Physical Fitness Assessment-per NAVY speak over there to the right-
A required basic physical test conducted to determine the physical fitness of Navy personnel)

Anyway he says that they got the Peanut Butter shot last Thursday and and still a bit sore. Peanut Butter shot is a very thick shot that has lot of stuff in it. I really don't know what but they give it to all of the recruits.
He got his account set up That's all.

Hope that helps you guys.
