Hey there- no call from My son yet. As soon as I her from him I'll let ya know. as I expect you all will do. I'm thinking with the extra stuff the div has to learn it could be an extra week. No news is good news.Let keep that thought.
And now I lay me down to sleep, so I can wake to stalk the mailbox again. \

(I'm kinda guessing that since I have to work til 4pm and then head straight to a track meet, for my youngest, that will mean a letter since I wont be able to get to read it till like 9pm! OH my. What's a girl to do.)

Good Night ALL! Thanks for being here on this journey with me. Can't wait to meet you all 6/11/10

Sajest- Ct for Steven. WOW. I agree I'm glad he can live on base while there. I wonder how he will like the North Eastern parts of the USA. Ian is looking forward to Florida.
Zmon- I too am hoping for us not to hear the words Grad and GO. Maybe since we have the flags and instruments to put away they wont be Grad and GO.
Came home from work and found Bill Junk sitting in my mailbox lonely today. Sure hope he has a friend from Great Lakes tomorrow to sit with in the box.
:D

Hoping eveyone has a great week. And please remember that the mail carriers are just the middle folks and as soon as they can put a smile in our mailboxes they will. Until then Bill Junk (LOL) will have to be lonely.

Hi all, I'm mom to Sajest and granny to Steven. Just getting started on these boards and not used to 'social networking'. In other words...HELP! Just kidding, my way of letting you all know that I'm more likely to be a 'voyeur' than a contributor but I do appreciate the info and comments 'cause I get to stay in the loop. Thanks!

sajest...

Zach's recruiter told me that he would go to BESS (Basic Sub School) for 4 weeks and then to A School. The BESS and A School is in Groton, CT. MMS is what Zach is going to be doing also. I hope that Zach is not a Grad and Go. We want to be able to spend as much time with him before he leaves for CT. According to his recruiter, he should have all weekend on Liberty, but you never know. Have you made your reservations for PIR yet? We are going to start working on those tomorrow. We are thinking about staying at one of the Marriot properties.

YEAH! Well, let see I'm guessing he will bear a flag for then. Has he ever been done that before? As for being on a Sub sometimes we just never know why. AS for deployed think of it this way at least being on a sub he can hide under the water if the needs. Not all boats can do that.
God has plans for all our guys and we just have to trust that his plans are to return them all home one day safely.
Everyone have a Great Monday!

Hi all...I received my letter yesterday. Zach is doing great. Says he is having fun and just doing what he is told. It broke my heart when he asked about his dog. I am going to put a picture of his dog in his next letter I send him. I still don't understand why he is in Division 930. He doesn't play and instrument. I guess he could be carrying a flag, but I don't know. That will be a question I ask him in his next letter. I have had several people ask me "Why a Sub"? I can't tell you why Zach choose a Sub except for the fact that he loves adventure!!! and I guess being under the sea is an adventure to him!!

The days are getting a little easier. I guess my real concern will come when he tells me he is being deployed!!! But that will be a little ways away!!! hopefully.

the recruiter gave it to me. But according tot eh form letter it appears we don't have to write that out. My friends daughter was in the Navy and she said our guys have a great ship it's close to the mess hall. LOL
