Pink-glad to hear about your son.
Mine graduated A school in April and came home for 2 weeks. He is stationed in Norfolk which is about 5 hours from here. I too am happy that he is close but a little sad that he did not go somewhere he has never been to before. He said he will be land based at Norfolk for two year because he still has to go to C school and they do not want to assign him to a ship until that is completed
Pink- congrats on your son's graduation!!
My son finished A school in April, was home for 2 weeks, was stationed in Norfolk and 10 days later joined his ship on his first deployment! We are hoping he will be home very soon.Can't wait to see him. Norfolk is 4 hours from home, so we hope when he is in port we will see him fairly often.
@surfermom - Glad to hear your son is doing well. How long is Nuke school? I'm sure he's got a ton of Math and Science.
It's been a tough road, but I'm glad he made it through. In a way, I'm glad he's close to home, but there's a side of me that wishes he wasn't so close to his friends. Now I'll be back to worrying if they decide to go out...like tonight. He left with some friends to go visit some other friends. I won't rest easy until he walks through the door...just like old times, huh?
I don't know if I shared this before or not, but the recruit who was homeless is now stationed in Japan and doing quite well. He says he loves it over there.
Finally, Ladies....finally! After being put on hold for two months because of his legs, I am proud to announce that my son graduated from A school today as a Corpsman and is heading home as we speak. He'll have two weeks leave and then off to Navy Medical in Bethesda, MD which is only about 45 minutes from me.
How is everyone doing? How are your sailors? Bobbie Chris...any plans to go to Italy yet?
@pink & Zachsinnavymom
I would love to go to Italy. He said 6 months to up to 3 years in Italy. I'm so excited for him to get to travel and see the world. Were getting excited he gets 30 days at home before he goes. Italy is expensive so we are definately going to try to go. Hope you ladies have a wonderful afternoon and good luck.
Pink- So frustrating for him to be in limbo still.
BobbieChris- You have got to visit Italy. That is where I spent my honeymoon in 06 and our youngest was actually conceived there! My husband has family in several different cities in Italy and it was a wonderful trip!
@BarbAnn...my poor soon would have been in class with your son. He's going to be a Corpsman too...if he can ever get enrolled in school. He's still in limbo on Ship 05, believe it or not.
@BobbieChris - Italy! That sounds so exciting. How long? Are you going to try to visit him while he's there?
