Thanks texasmom.  ET is "Electronics Technician" and operates the reactor.  EM is "Electricians Mate"  and operates power distribution on the ship.  They both go to the same A school and take the same classes for most of the 24 weeks but in the last few weeks branch off: the EM's study electric motors and generators and the ET's study how to troubleshoot electronic circuits.

Gee do you think the My Little Pony stickers on the envelope will do the trick?   These ought to get some attention. LOL

William,  According to my son, if a high percentage of SR's pass the PFA the division gets a flag.  He was surprised that his time improved by 45 seconds in the run in these few short weeks.  So I guess the brutal PT works.

I've been unsure of the differences between ET and EM, just know they both are electrical.  Do you know?  EM was his first choice.  Maybe our boys will both be ET and go to school together.

I think you should try the Little Pony stickers!

Hi texasmom can you please tell us what is the meaning of the "division might flag in PFA".  Does that mean everyone in Div 071 passed the PFA test, so that is why they might get the flag?  If so that lifts one of my worries.  By a lot, LOL.    I do not know that "division PFA flag" means.  Thanks

ET is very good rating, my son had  listed ET as his first choice (unless he changed his mind later) I  don't know yet if he got ET or not.  All the ratings are good,  but ET is good because you operate the plant.

Good morning everyone!  I got a letter from my son this weekend dated 18Jan11.  It was short but he mentioned that the division might flag in PFA.  Go 71.  They took it at 4am, yikes!  I still can't picture him getting up before noon.

He also mentioned that he got his orders and he is an ET (Nuke).  Not his first choice, but a close second.

They should have one more day of Hell Week.

Sounds like they do have another day  of Week 4 to go maybe because Monday was Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. day.    Thanks for the updates.  I hope my son won the marksmanship ribbon he was already a good shot with a 9mm pistol,  better than Dad LOL.  What I really hope is that he passed the physical fitness test.

Do they have one more day of hell week?  I think that they have only done 4-1 thru 4-4.  I hope their done and its been good to hear the news.  No letters so far this week.  Great to hear from everyone else.

Thanks for the info from letters.  Glad to hear the news!  Glad HELL week is over...They sounded VERY busy and I am sure they were very nervous.

I got 2 letters today and he sounds excellent! He passed his physical and inspection and he's really positive! He was so happy to hear my voice the other night, he said that it reminds him why he was there and what he was doing! Less than 3 weeks to go!

Also, found out that my husband is buddies with Josh's Mom's son lol. That made my day!

Sorry I'm not on here very often, my laptops not very reliable and my computers still not fixed yet.
