William, yes I did do it all by myself lol. I'm pretty darn proud of myself!
I got a card AND Navy necklace from my husband today. He said he went into the NEX and couldn't help but pick it up for me. He knows it's nothing fancy but he feels bad for not being here for my 21st birthday and all the holidays. I'm not mad at him, I know that when the Navy calls he goes but he now feels so guilty. Little does he know, this is the best necklace I ever got! I put it on right away and I'm going to cherish it everyday. God I love him! He seems to be doing better now that he got to talk to me last Friday, he said that he loves the letters and cards I send him and to keep sending because it keeps him motivated. He said it's so nice at the end of the day to get a letter. And after graduation he wants to take me to the exchange and buy me stuff lol, such a man, and always trying to spoil me! LOL.
texasmom I am not sure if my son has a position in the division because he is too busy to write LOL. That might be the reason, you make a very good point. Anyway I am not too disappointed, he called and said "Dad I am just too busy doing my Navy stuff". I did not think to ask about that.
Too bad a few people in the division are still misbehaving at this late stage. Think of how hard it is now to get into the Navy: then why would anybody ruin their chances on purpose? Makes no sense. I did write my son that if your whole division gets punished because of a few just take your lumps, and if they punish you for something you did, take it as a corrective lesson, just do better next time. The RDC's are also teaching them a valuable lesson about "guilt by association".
My friend from another forum is the dad of a nuke who was in my son's DEP group in Nashua and one month ahead and she just shipped out to Goose Creek. He said she did get her first choice of a nuclear rating and that on that day the nuke recruits all got their picks. But that was a month ago. The next time it could be 30 nukes will meet with master chief and naval reactors will tell him "we need 50 EM's to fill the next class", so "congratulations you are all EM's".
Best of luck to all our sons and all our recruits.
SailorsWife'10 I took another look at the photo of your driveway and did a double take -- you shoveled all that by yourself? You are one tough cookie! Well I hope you get to move down to A school (Pensacola?) soon and then you and your husband get stationed somewhere nice and warm ... like Hawaii maybe or wherever he wants. My nephew is a helicopter rescue swimmer in the Coast Guard and lives in Ewa Beach with his wife & daughter. Weather forecast for today is for rain with a high of 79 degrees with a low of 71. I could get used to that LOL.
I got a letter yesterday too. I typically get them on THursday so this is a nice surprise.
William - I feel for you and your lack of letters. I guess I'm lucky to get the 1 letter a week that he mails to his dad. He says that he doesn't have time to write more. My ex then scans it and emails it to me so I didn't get it until late last night. He just writes the one letter and then it gets fanned out to all the relatives. I used to never check my regular mail so my son has been mailing to his dad. Little does he know that since I want to get a letter from him I've been checking it every day. :)
I'm going to send my son some questionaires also. They posted some on the boot camp group at http://www.navyformoms.com/group/bootcampmoms/forum/topics/question...
I do think that the Little Pony stickers would be awesome. Hello Kitty might work too.
Does your son have a position in the division? That also can really affect how much free time that they have. My son has had two positions that I know of since he has been there. The first was very time consumming. Luckily he lost that one when he has his wisdom teeth pulled. His new position requires him to spend 2 hours every other night writing reports. I love to hear from him more, but I would much rather have him get some much needed sleep. Luckily we don't have a gf to have to share his time with and can be kept informed by others in the division.
My son was a little bit more down in this letter. He is very frustrated by the few kids that keep on messing up, especially when it is on purpose. Hopefully the division is hitting its low point and the RDC's will start the building them up real soon.
He also confirmed that the nukes were going to talk to the coordinator this week. They have also done weapons training. Next week is supposed to be hell week where they wake up at 3am every day and doing PT all day.
Have a great day everyone! Hopefully you'all will be able to dig out of all that snow. I wish we had a little bit here, just a little.
if not then whip out those stickers ;) lol good luck hope u get ur answers :D 28 days!!

Lmao, I would love to put some wild stickers on my husbands but don't wanna embarrass him! He's been doing good with writing so I guess I'll let him go, but that one definitely made me laugh William!!!
