i had recently read about how some moms got their children to write, they wrote letters with a list of questions then some answers a.b.c.d for them to answer the right one, then they sent pre addressed envelopes so they just circle the answers maybe write a little at the end then you have the answers to some of your questions (:

My house is really set back from the road and has about 400 foot of driveway and a landscaped "island" in the middle that divides it into 2 lanes
so you can turn around. Like if the UPS truck comes they can drive around the island and drive out the way they came in. It seemed like a good idea at the time ... when I was 10 years younger LOL. We live out in the sticks. Glad everyone made it through the snowstorm OK.

I also saw my Dr. yesterday she said Navy boot camp is harder than the other branches except Marines. My son hasn't written at all said he is way too busy I threatened to put My Little Pony stickers on the outside of the envelopes LOL my letters see if that gets him to write LOL.

i got a letter and a card today(:

the letter said that this has turned out to be a great experience for him, that he is loosing any bit of fat he had and gaining tons of muscle lol "hes pretty proud of himself for that;)" haha he said its getting easier to go day to day on their schedule, but its getting way harder because of the new things their doing.

he mentioned he appreciated my letters and was sorry he couldnt tell me he loved me as much as he wanted to cuz he is so busy. the at the end he added some ideas he thought of for the wedding and commented on how we better just name our baby "no name" because we cant agree on any of them lol

the card had a stick man on the front and said "this is me missing you" then you open it up and it was a stick man with a beret on saying "this is me still missing you...only now im wearing a beret. haha(:

then next to it he wrote more about how hard it is getting beat and pushed to the limits all the time and how he is excited to eat whatever he wants after graduation cuz hes sick of eating the same food everyday lol.

We only got 5 inches of snow but we have a long driveway to shovel. Unfortunately no one was nice enough to come plow for me lol. Oh well though, it's done now! No worries, just hope it doesn't snow again.

Glad to hear that your SR are writing. It is also great they are getting more privileges it is a big improvement to quality of life to have 20 minutes to eat instead of 10 or 12. The 10 minute showers are great too now their lives are becoming more normal. Less than one month to go now that means the worst is over for Div 071 and the ones who made it this far will graduate they just have to tough it out and stay safe. Let's keep our fingers crossed as they start to shape up they might earn another phone call.

We got hit by a blizzard in New Hampshire woke to about 18" of blowing snow took me four hours to plow and it snowed a couple more inches after that. My other son dug out two cars that were not in the garage. When I was finished I laid down for a quick nap at 5 p.m. and woke up at 9:30 LOL there is nothing quite like plowing out a very long driveway in a blizzard on an open tractor to cure insomnia. I hope everyone stayed safe and warm this would have been miserable to drive in.

One of my other Navy dad friends' daughter who was in my son's DEP group in Nashua, also a nuke, who left a month ahead of my son just graduated boot camp and flew to Goose Creek yesterday. I am very happy for her. She did get her pick of rating as a nuke which is a hopeful sign though it changes by the month.

That's great for you guys who got letters. Normally Thursday is my mail day, so I'll be patiently waiting, stalking the mailman tomorrow lmao.

Joanie, I have only gotten one letter!  And it was two weeks ago!  My son is not a writer!  I don't know what I would do without the updates from everyone else... keeps me up to date!  (he told me he had written 3 as of Friday's phone call, but I have only received one)

Me too.  Great to hear about the mail arriving today.  Hopefully that means I will get one tomorrow.  Texas is usually one day later.  Take care.

My husband comes up from the basement(his office area) and asks frequently if there is any new news coming from the Navy Moms!  I told him there is a Navy Dads but he says that he'll leave that all up to me!  :)  I am so glad for this site and especially this group!  Even though I don't always post comments, I am on this site all the time and LOVE reading everyone else's posts!  Thanks to you all!
