My husband's going to be an Airman, Crazie_Kat. I'm positive we're going to Pensacola too, which I'm looking very forward to lol. Well I don't really care where we go, as long as we're together. :) Maybe your son and my husband know each other. There was a few names he told me but I don't want to put them on here.

Emlovee, is everything okay with the baby? I'm glad you got a phone call, that was definitely an answered prayer! I'm so ready to have children, but we're going to wait until we're more settled. I couldn't even imagine what you're going through, I'm not sure I could handle doing it by myself. :( Keep up your strength though, your baby and SR need it! And good luck with everything!

Snow is starting to come down now, ugh. I was sent home from work early because of it. We're suppose to get 3-6 inches, and I'm not looking forward to it! LOL.

Sorry I had to go have my 7 year old's head stitched up....he ran into a corner of a wall at a neighbors house.  Thank goodness it was right where he parts his hair so it is all good.  He is child number 4 and I was just waiting for the day he needed stitches.  All three of my other kids had their first stitches by the time they were 2!  At least he made it to age 7!   :)  Parent of the year award will have to go to someone else this year! :)

Thanks for the info William....I look forward to hearing about the rating he gets.

I was very curious if our division were all going Nukes but it doesn't sound like it...Other than aviation what else are the SRs going into?  Is everyones A school the same length of time?

texasmom there is no telling how they select individual recruits for nuclear ratings.   Here is what it says in the unclassified Navy recruiting manual:

010109.  NUCLEAR FIELD CLASS “A” SCHOOL

    a.  Ratings.  All enlistees will attend the NF Class “A” School for training in one of the following ratings:

         (1) Electronics Technician (ET)

         (2) Electrician’s Mate (EM)

         (3) Machinist’s Mate (MM)

   b.  No Guarantees.  Enlistees are not guaranteed a specific Class “A” School.

Ultimate assignment to a specific school is based upon the needs of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion program and when possible the enlistee's personal desires

nick is an aviation structural mechanic, from the research iv done it is 52 days in Aschool in pensacola fl.

the phonecall was VERY unexpected, i had actually had a baby scare the night before and was in the hospital all night, so i wokeup to my phone ringing and didnt even open my eyes to see who it was, when i heard him crying on the other line i was so relieved that i could talk to him! that whole night was kind of a punch in the face with reality that i may actually be having a baby without him their. so to be able to talk to him was an answered prayer!

in most of my letters and the phone call he had talked about how immature some of the div was, how the RTCs ask them to do something and they do the opposite, he said if he wasnt getting encouraging letters he didnt know how he would be able to stay motivated when his div was constantly getting punished for others screwups,

he passed his physical test and went up a rank (: but failed the bunk inspection which it seems everyone did. otherwise it seems like their all kind of getting into the schedule now and used to being pushed around and yelled at.

happy 1 month official countdown everyone (: i hope everyone gets letters this week. it always makes me feel good to see when yall get to hear from your loved ones.

SailorsWife, what is his job?  My son is Aircrewman... he goes to Pensacola next, I imagine that is where you will be too!  (good, you can keep an eye on my son for me!)  :)

My son is going into Aviation... any others?

Yes he joined the day before Thanksgiving and left December 13th lol. There wasn't even enough time to let it sink it, we joke about that. My husbands almost 26, he's married, and we're ready to start a family. So I know it's difficult being around people that don't listen. If they can't listen now how are they going to take orders later? My husbands thin, but didn't eat right before he left, and didn't work out much so we can definitely say he was out of shape. He could do the 1.5 mile run and sit ups before he left but was having a hard time with push-ups. He failed by I think 2 or 3, but definitely very confident now!

We're getting snow tonight into tomorrow, they say 3-6 inches but I'm hoping for none lol.

KDB & William : It is great that they get to talk to the nuke coordinator this week.  I know that my son wanted to know more about what was coming up in GC.  He talked to a nuke recruiter several times while he was a DEPer.  Hopefully they will get some input on the type of rating they get assigned.   Do they assign them by their ASVAB scores?  Random?  Curious.

SailorsWife: Wow your husband only had to wait 3 weeks to wait.  My son had been waiting since April, I think.  He didn't pass the physical either, he wasn't feeling good that day.  He could have passed before he left, so I'm hoping he won't have a problem there.  I think the only one he missed was the run, he was off by 5 sec.  It's probably different running in boots with all the blisters.

It is a shame that they have some immature kids in the division, I don't know if they are all 18 year olds.  Some boys/girls never grow up.  I would think they would learn not to goof off with such dire consequences.

Hope the weather doesn't affect our mail.
