Emily, welcome to the group. :)
SailingHi, my husband will be 26 soon so it's not him. :(
first im going to introduce myself, my name is emily(: im 18 years old and my fiance is 20 years old in ship 09 div 071. we have been together for 2 1/2 years and were expecting our first baby on may 7th. i am SOOO glad to find a group where everyones loved one is on the same routine, getting the same punishments etc.
i got a 30 min call today and 4 letters yesterday :D in the letters he was pretty upbeat except for the fact that some people in his div keep screwingup big time and making it so their "1 team 1 fight" rule sets in and they all get in trouble. he had his teeth pulled last week, and he is really lonely and said its hard for him to stay motivated. but other then those things hes doing good, and he said his closest friend theirs name is nathen. i can not wait for graduation!!!!
Yay! I did get a call from my son in Ship 09 Div 071 and we chatted for 8-1/2 minutes. He was in good spirits. He has a cold like a lot of them but is working his way through it. He is keeping up with the division. Does not think it is getting any easier yet, but he can take it, which is all that counts. He said yes, indeed they are finishing week 2 today, and starting training week 3 starts on Monday. He kept saying Dad, I am fine. [who is the worrier in the family, me not my son] The food is good, and he is making friends He was in good spirits but he has been too busy to write, he is working on all his stuff. He said do not bother to visit him at PIR, but to see him at nuke A school in Goose Creek later (which is as we planned before boot camp, so that is a good sign he does not desperately want to see Mom & Dad all of a sudden). He got the phone card and NEX gift card but does not expect to use either before graduation.
My son called too!!! YEAH!!! So glad to talk to him! He said he is on laundry duty too. That he had passed his physical test and I think that is what they do to keep them busy while the others work out. He said only about 6 had passed the physical test. He also says he has to wear glasses now! Poor guy, BC glasses!
I am soooo glad to hear from him.. he sounded like he wanted to cry at first... ME TOO! I hope everyone gets a call as well!!!! YEAH!
I just got a call too. Hopefully the whole division is getting one. Yahoo! It was so great hearing his voice. Wow! My boy also was requesting mail, he also said that the size of the envelope doesn't matter. Today I mailed 8 letter because he wanted pages from a book he was reading, puzzles and comics. I've been putting them in regular envelopes. He did mention that someone sent food and they had him toss it. Wow, this sure made my day. I was hope for a late lunch from work and I may just skip the rest of the day. Only an hour.
If he goes to San Antonio the weather will sure be a lot nicer. San Antonio is just an hour south of Austin. Bummer that it will be farther away from Ohio. My boy hasn't heard anything about when he leaves for Goose Creek, SC for nuke school.
Good luck everyone,
Linda
