Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

thanks! i dont know.. he called me at 8:50 so 7:50 their time and im guessing their was just time for that 1 phone call that he got to earn. it was a 7 minute call. He didnt say how many people it was such a suprise to talk to him that it was so hard to ask him everything! their actual bootcamp just started on monday though. the first 2 weeks they were there was processing weeks because of the holidays alot of RDC's were off. So their actual boot camp is 7 weeks instead of 8 but they still fit everything in.

What job are each of your recruits going into? Just trying to get a feel for why they put certain people in certain groups. Casey, my daughter will be going to Fort Leonard Wood, MO to be a EO with the Seabee's.

Welcome JennyD. I wonder why they did not let that group call. In some DIV the whole group got to call. Oh well maybe soon. Did he say anything about how big the DIV was or how many guys and girls? Jst any kind of info.

i have not heard from my boyfriend yet since christmas! he was the only one in the division allowed to get a phone call. but he did have to earn it by singing the little drummer boy in front of the whole division! he said he would be able to send out his letters but i still havent received any so im hoping for this week!

mlynnc- what navy recruiter was your husband sent out of, My son left the Sanford recruiter office. I live in sanford and work in the er in orange city, I see you are from Deland, I will keep you informed if I hear from my son Kyle and if you hear anything from your husband please inform us

So good to find others in this group. I was begining tobeleive my daughter was in the group alone. Do you know how big this group is. I have not gotten a call or letter yet. Nothing since the form letter. We need to keep in touch because they are going through this together. TTYL
