Hi Demi,

I hope they get to call soon too!

Marlin Spike was like tying off a boat at the dock.

They had Live Firing yesterday, and some kind of

Safety and Procedure weapons test last week.  Zac said he stood at a counter with PVC pipes on it and had to do something....I did not understand, and then ejected a round while locking the slide, & holstered their weapon properly, & then answer a weapons question.

They had a PI??

Inspection of military posture, uniform, shoes, laces, buttons, etc... and were asked a question by the inspector.

That's about it, other than he said he is feeling confident and excited for PIR!

Beth :)

I got a letter today!  His letters are short though, I still don't know much of what is going on.  He says he found out his A School will only be about 6 weeks long and after that he will get to come home for a week (which could very possibly be for his birthday).  I thought the logistics specialist school was self paced, but who knows!  He said after that he does not know where he will be shipped.  He says the days are 16 - 18 hours long and he is pretty much dead to the world when the lights go out.  Honestly - that is about all he said - except he wants a Chicago style pizza and a Coke.  He always signs his letters - Better Days Ahead, Love, Doug - lol!

Hoping for a letter today.....I'm missing him SO much.  I was thinking about flying in on the 13th, get situated and acquainted on the 14th, then of course be prepared for the 15th.  I'm staying the whole weekend just in case he gets some free time.

Can't wait to meet you too :)

I'm getting really excited to see our son and to hear all about this adventure in person...in my letters I often refer to bootcamp as winter camp :), in today's letter I'll ask who he gets the toilet paper from :)

Everyone make sure you go to the PIR 4/15 group and look at the PIR rules for PDA(public displays of affection), its at the top under discussions.

Good information...wouldn't want anyone to loose any part of their liberty!!!

I looked at the Battle Stations power point today and watched the CNN you tube video, all great information on what's ahead for our boys!!!!!!

Thank you to those that posted that.

Oh...Mike is the Head PO :) , he is one of and in charge of the "Nasty Nine"...that would be the bathroom cleaning crew...:)

When he told me that in one of his letters, I wrote back...I knew what comes around goes around...I used to put on a toxic cleanup suit and gas mask to clean your bathroom. He wrote back that this is actually a job with some good perks...Hollywood showers for starters.

I guess it is all what you make of it, and so far his letters home have been really good :)

Beth I think your idea is a good one!

Mike told me on the phone a couple of weeks ago that they know each other by last name rather than first, and I know we can not talk about last names on here.

The only first name he mentioned was Ed since he left from Phoenix with him. So in my letter tonight I will ask him whether he knows Zac and Doug, and I will mention their jobs, and then I'll let him know to give them messages in case he can't call and vice versa.

...and yes, I washed and folded all of his laundry :)
