Hello Moms...I'm making reservations for my flight out to GL...let me get some advice from you. Should I plan to stay throughout the weekend in case my SR Son gets some time off. He has already told me he is grad n go - but I believe he is he is staying in GL for Corpsman A school. His recruiter thought he might get the whole weekend....but I'm not sure. Please let me know.
Thanks
Cathy
I heard about the haircuts too :)
My son said it was a jarhead haircut, and he said it looks silly because his hair grows so fast...I don't care, I just can't wait to see him :)
Booked the flight, hotel, and rental car this week...we're getting closer to PIR!!!!
Happy to hear that you got a letter!!!
Those letters seem to make all the difference to us Moms and to our SR's.
My son keeps commenting how he loves the letters from home.
About those phone calls, how often do they get to call???
Is it every week on a certain day, or only if they earn the priviledge as a whole division?
Has anyone heard how that works?
I finally got another letter!!!
Zac was on "Watch" when the DIV had their phone call time :(
At least I know that he wanted to call, and he wasn't in trouble!
He was excited about getting his dress blues and whites; Also a really nice Pea Coat, dress shoes, Garrison cap, 8-Point covers, and white sailor caps!
He was happy that PIR is getting closer!
Oh, one more thing. He said that anyone that was SIQ (Sick In Quarters) did not get the opportunity to call home either. So if you didn't get a call, maybe your SR was sick or on Watch :)
I wrote my son a letter from his dog, he loved it!!!
Told me in a letter I got today that he was glad I taught his dog to write...he said it was nice to hear from her :)
Thanks for the news Shandral.
I bet mine misses hanging out on the couch with the dog too!
Beth :)
Thanks Beth. He did that, but I was not sure If we need to get actual tickets!
Bo
Hi Bo,
Your son needs to have up to 4 names on a list. No tickets. They check to see if your name is on the list before letting you inside to be seated. If you're driving, someone in the car needs to be on that list when they stop you at the front gate, I think.
