Marion, thats what i would think-thats a 50 mile trip from Midway, i cant imagine they would taxi me all that way for $6.00, maybe minerva was talking about taking a taxi from hotel to RTC? LOL

the hotel will have to have a shuttle available to PIR bg/c i will not have a car! LOL

I am still checking on expedia every day to see what airport i should fly into! And when i went to the shuttle website it gave me a quote of $42.00/roundtrip! So, i thought that was way more reasonable than a $350.00 rental car(b/c im under 25) but i just know that Midway airport is about 16 miles farther from RTC, and I want to make sure i'll make it to the Meet n greet! and would a taxi really only be $6.00 to my hotel? that doesn't sound right?! and as of right now, im either staying at the navy lodge or candlewood suites-haven't decided yet

i am taking the shuttle but to the hotel i am staying at I am pretty sure MIL wouldn't go that far, but i will check into it! Thanks

im still trying to decide which airport i need to fly into! and whether i should fly in on the 28th also...i dont want to miss the meet n greet but not sure if i can afford the extra night hotel and be all alone :( the only flights coming into O'Hare on 29th are getting in around 3pm so i would more than ikely not make it to the meet n greet! it takes about half an hour to get luggage then another half an hour to get on the shuttle so i may be able to make it! maybe if theres enough of us in town by the 28th we can get together! B/c i am coming alone and it kinda freaks me out, going to a huge place and being on a shuttle all by myself LOL

Pegatha:i emailed RTC to find out for sure if the sailors will also have leave or liberty on jan 4th, 5th and 6th and they emailed back and said liberty is only until Jan 3rd, so you did the right thing! we will get 30th, 31st, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd!

Shayna's mom I am coming from CA too. I found that flying Southwest into Midway was the cheapest for us.

When I talked to my son on 11/20 he said after PIR he had to be back every night at 8:00pm. He is staying in GL for A school and said he had off until Jan 6th. I was disappointed because I had already made plans to come back on the 4th.
