Ship 11/180 Moms AFTER Bootcamp

Moms/Wives of 11/180:  We were great support for each other during boot camp.  Let's keep in touch and update each other on how our sailors are doing.  PIR was awesome, but liberty was too short.

OMG!  so good to hear from you.  Sounds like Fort Lee is not fun.  How long is Brandon's A School?  Going out to the fleet will be a relief.  Dam Neck had the same problem with the drinking and everyone being punished.  What is with these kids not handling their first taste of freedom well?  The only good thing is, when he gets liberty he can come home!  Julie, what a super honor for your son.  We will watch for him when we see the President.  Mommacindy, where is Jeff in A School?  Ben knows a few guys from boot, but nobody from 180.  Overall, he sounds good.  phew.

Wow, I am surprised to hear that Brandon's A school is like BC.  I guess every place is different. I thought he was staying at GL for Culinary school.  Tell him to hang in there, it will get better eventually.  And Julie congrats to your son being in the honor guard.  DC is wonderful.  I have been there several times and each time I see something new.  The museums are wonderful.

Brandon is in Aschool in Fort Lee in VA. It is an Army base and they do things different than the Navy. He said that there is not much to do there. He said it is like being back in BC. They have to march to class and to go eat?? They only have 15min to eat and can not socialise...There is only one place to eat..not fast food like at GL. He said one of the guys that has been there several weeks and has weekend overnight liberty came in drunk last night so all of them are being punished...I feel bad for them, They can't even go to the USO...and that is the only place to go there....Just praying he can get through A-school and rank high in his class!

Hey you guys!! How are A Schools going?  My son is loving A school as it is paradise compared to boot camp.  He does miss the guys in his division though.  It is more individualized at A school and he misses some of that 180 spirit.  Virginia Beach is smokin' hot and the CA/Seattle kid has not experienced it before.  He loves his classes and his instructor, but the galley is too far away.  Easier to skip eating.  We'll see how long that lasts.  They had their first fitness class yesterday at 5 a.m.   He was expecting it to be easier than boot, but no.  They ran 3 miles on the beach and it killed.  Lucky they are young.  Miss talking to all of you.

Hi everyone!!!  I am so glad that our Sailors now have their cell phones.  Jeff is doing well and has started his A school.  He is really enjoying the Navy life!!  Hope all is well with all of you.
