Dana & Chris (and other 058 moms)-

I wanted to pass on the info we discussed at the M&G. Check out http://www.persnet.navy.mil/Enlisted/CommunityManagers/ and select the job discription in the left hand column. When you look at the career path table it will tell you when they can apply for the Seaman to Admiral program (STA-21).

For more info on the STA-21 program you can check out https://www.sta-21.navy.mil/

Hope this helps. Best of luck to all of you on this next stage of the adventure. God has been faithful and he will continue to be so!!!!

Chris- I hope it is going to get easier!

Matthew called and said he made it safe & sound to San Antonio. I was happy they got them out before the storm hit. He sounded tired, but so am I after my flight and drive home and I haven't been through 10 weeks of sleep deprived boot camp! Hope all is going well for all your boys, they sure were a nice group!

Hi Ladies,

It was so great being able to meet you on Thursday.  I wish we could have had more time together.  You're right Dana - the time did go by way too fast.  I didn't anticipate how hard it would be leaving my son Sun. night.  It almost felt worse than when he left for boot camp. Weird.  He was sick over the weekend, maybe that's why it was so hard.  I just talked to him and he made it safely to his A school in South Carolina although he said it might have been better to get snowed in at Great Lakes because then he would be able to get more rest.  It's hard knowing he's sick and he has to take care of himself.  He's going to call tomorrow with his address and then I'm going to overnight his phone to him - I can't wait until it is easier to communicate with him!  Do you think we're maybe over the hardest part?

It was great meeting all of you! We got back Sunday night after leaving our son at the mall, too! Sharon, maybe he met up with your son! What a wonderful weekend - I am so glad we went! Thanks again for all the support. It will be easier on all of us after they get their cell phones and internet connections!

It was really nice getting a meet all of you ladies.  Sharon, your mom was wonderful.  Trevor has been telling her "Diamondhead" story since we've been home - LOL!  It was hard for us to drop him off again.  The time went by WAY too fast.  But to see how happy he was/is with the choice he's made, makes us happy too.  I know our sailors are all off to different directions, but I would like to keep up with you and your sailors just to know how you and they are doing.  So let's stay in touch.  Good luck to you and your sailors on this A School journey.

Well, my mom and I made it back to CA last night about 11:30. What a day! I was happy to that we met up with some other Sailors at the mall and were able to leave my son with his Shipmates there when we headed to the airport. I really hated the idea of dropping him back at base by himself with 4 hours of Liberty left. He seemed good and happy with his decision, although was homesick and missing his friends and family.

Chris & Dana- Once I get home I will post the info about job rates and Seaman to Admiral program we talked about at the M&G. Hope you all enjoed your weekends. I know mine was too short, LOL.

Congratulations to all!! We have made it. I'm so proud of all of them. I can't wait to get my hands on my boy. I'm so happy that our kids have connected and built a friendship. Looking forward to seeing everyone and staying in touch.

Well, I got my call!!! There I was standing in the Shell station crying like a baby and my husband explaining why. My son even got to call his girlfriend, she was riding the bus to the game. How happy we both were to get that call. I'm leaving in the morning to drive to my mom's and then we fly out from there on Thursday. I'm not sure that I'll make the M&G, we don't get in until 4pm.

Dana- I asked if they all passed and the first thing he said was yes your son did! I can't wait to meet you all at graduation.

Congratulations ladies, we made it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to let you know my son said that everyone passed their academic tests and that is the first time their RDC had seen that and he's taken 15 divisions through boot camp!
