Welcome, NF mom!!  I am so nervous tonight for our sons, I know they'll all do great, but this is the final test, and I'm just imagining what they are doing, what they are going through.  My sailor said their whole division is doing great, so I need to just chill!!

Cant wait to get the call tomorrow!!  My son is Grad-n-go too, we will be there, already paid for the flights, etc.  Just hoping he doesn't fly out til a little later on Saturday - I plan to meet him at the airport unless it's a charter, even if it's at 3 AM!!   I dont recall a JJ, but I 'm sure they are all friends by now!  I'll send you a private message too.   Prayers to all that they pass this final test with ease, and then smooth sailing until PIR!!!

My son is apparently going to hang with a shipmate and his family

after graduation.  My husband did not ask for names of his friends.

Anyone ever hear of  a JJ ( John )  H. in your son's letters or calls ???

Anyone who wishes to private message please do, I believe we have to invite/accept a friend request before we can private message, but I may not understand that properly...

Hi all, I just discovered this group. Not sure why it took me so long :)

My son is JJ, ( also Ship 11 Div 065 of course ).

My husband spoke with him on Sunday and he was pumped for Battle Stations on Wed night,   It seems kind of mean to train them to sleep during the night and get up early, then keep them up so they will be dead tired during Battle Stations which lasts all night, but I guess that is the whole point of the simulation.

We are from Washington State and do not plan fly back since he is going to ship out something like 3:00 AM to Goose Creek.

I am jealous of those of you who are gong to PIR :)

My son call0ed on Sunday too, sounded great and said all was going well for their division, they all are doing great. He was worried about the last written test they were to take on Monday- but he always stresses about those and then does fine. He said Gas Chamber wasn't that bad, and thinks they are all ready and will pass Batttle stations- only thing that concerns him is falling asleep at the periodic 15 minute briefings. He told his buddies to just punch him whatever , just wake him up!! Must not be sleeping well-they confiscated the ear plugs I sent him. Says he falls asleep marching- now that's bad!!! 9 days!!!! And we get the "I'm a sailor call on Thursday-its finally almost here. Everybody stay safe and warm!!

Mentioned to him the moms I see and speak to on N4M and he gave me many names of friends he has made. And Shauna you were right you did talk to my son that day! :) He told me their division flag is yellow and blue. Said he is working toward EO3 and cant wait to PIR.

I got a letter today dated 1/23.  He said that since they've been sick, they had to get more shots, including a second "peanut butter" shot.  That makes them only the second group of recruits in the history of RTC to get two.  On the positive side, he said that on the second (of Feb, I guess) they have earned access to the phones and Taco Bell so he'll be calling soon.  Plus, we should get our "I'm a sailor" call next week.  :)        Birthday wishes to you.

I dont know Hannon's mom, I'll look on the other Groups.  I got a SHORT note from my son today dated 1/20, said he was doing good, passed everything so far, and said he was going to continue to!  Said they only have Test 3, PI, PFA, DMI, Firefighting, Gas Chamber, and Battlestations left to do (as if that isn't much...ha!).  He was very positive about everything!  Said he would write more on Sunday, so I am hoping for another letter tomroow.   He didnt say anything about my birthday ( it was on the 22nd), but thats ok - I figure he has a lot more on his mind!!  TWO WEEKS from tomorrow - WOO-HOO!!!!
