I heard they're getting their pix taken today, tuesday.  Mine has an extra phone card, please use it if your son is still short.  As late as it's getting, the next call might be the last one - "I'm a sailor."  :)   I think we've been lucky getting as many calls as we have but it sounds like the Chief allows them as rewards.  Hopefully we get another one but I'm so surprised I can't think of my questions and both Sundays we've been on the road somewhere.  Mine was almost well and then had a bad relapse for which he needed to go to medical yesterday.  He thinks it came from the guns which had been handled  by other divisions earlier.  He hasn't mentioned snoring but said he's so cold at night he has trouble sleeping - a LITTLE blanket  doesn't replace a comforter.  I THINK marlin spike is the handling of all the ropes required to tie up a ship.   It sounds like they're doing a lot of marching.  Wheb they're outside, they wear so many layers they feel like the little kid in the Christmas Story movie.  One  day at a time and hopefully we'll all be celebrating.

Hey just got a call from my son - he said the division did really well in some tests, so they all may get a call you soon!    He is worried about a stomach flu that is going around now, so afraid if he gets sick again they might ASMO him.  He was eating a snickers bar - I guess the RDC told them they could get a call and candy!!  So good to hear his voice, he ran out of minutes on the card so had to hang up - said he was gong to try to call his grand parents next, I hope they are home, they will be thrilled!

I havent been on here for awhile, business trips - so when I got home, I had 2 large packets and 1 small envelope of letters this week that my SR was mailing back home for me to keep for him (so the large prestamped envelopes work!) with no letters in them for me, and then Saturday finally a letter for me - yay!  He says that the meds they gave him worked, he is no longer sck, and said his morale and the dvision's morale is much better.  He said they had "marlin spike" (sp?) today, it was fun and he had a difficult job assignment but liked it and he did ok.  Said they this past week they were to have their 2nd PFA, Personal Inspection, Bunk Inspection, weapon turnover, and live fire for a ribbon - sounds like it was a busy week!    He said he could now write Tues, Thurs and Sunday now , so I'm hoping for more letters.  SOOOO glad he's better, physically and mentally.    The one thing he asked for (bseide return labels and letters) was foam ear plugs - that the snoring was horrible!  :-)  and yes, he could not wait for Chipotle - right after PIR!!
