Just so you all know, I've updated the PIR 11/12 page with your actual BS21 date of tomorrow and posted a blue candle that we will keep lit until all get the "I'm a SAILOR" call. Come check it out!

Lefzfly - thanks for sharing so much info!!!

Ladies, I got some info today! I sent him a questionaire and he responded!!! Dated 10/26 -28 Here goes...
They have wone 3 flags, zone, drill & athletic
Division flag is a skull with an explosion. A female sailor with a gas mask???
Battlestations is TOMORROW 11/3
gas chamber was 10/28 (i think) He said it was awful, it burnt so bad but he didn't get sick. Couldn't see for 5 minutes and lots of coughing but it was all over after 5 minutes
He hasn't gotten the division in trouble, only himself (for being funny?!?)
Best friends Adam D, Thomas E & Nya L
Captains Cup is 11/6
Just got another round of shots, his 2nd haircut (1 more before PIR)
He's been sick the whole time, just getting better now
Working as a team? yes & no
Do you like ironing? No, I hate it. I workout instead
Sewing? no Standing watch? sucks Polishing boots? boring Do you stand watch often? every other day Hardest thing to do so far? not talk (hmmm is that why we're not getting calls?!?!?) Easiest thing to do? eat When do you get to go to the bathroom? pretty much anytime I want How about showers? once a day, 4 min long
What division is on top? WE ARE

Then the letter said they've been busy doing fire fighting, damage control etc. Said watched a documentary on USS Cole attack which made him very mad. No idea when they can call again....urgh
That's about it, he sounds great but ready to move on.

wonder if my boss would believe that I got suddenly sick.. cough..cough..cough.. :O)

Floss.. I was cracking up with the whole Mother Hen pecking order.. I could just visualize you stomping into GL w/hands on hips yelling" excuse me, who is charge here? I'd like to have a word with them!".. LOL

Lady: I do believe that those girls of ours could actually be doing that just so they still feel they would have the upper hand on us.. LOL

And hey ladies, I think we need to "show up" more on the PIR forum. Gotta represent now don't we.. (wink) .

Dee- if it's any consulation to you, I have felt like storming the base gates and jerking someone around and say "listen, that's my son you have in there and I aint to happy about the way things are done around here!" That's my little fantasy. Then I take a deep breath and count to ten, get on the board and vent. Thanks for taking the brunt ya'll.
No phone calls, but I'm hoping for on on Fri. Letter day for me is tomorrow. It's 10 times better than Friday.;)

Good morning Ladies. Thanks for the laughs this morning. So tired after Holloween weekend and work....I was out last night!! I think we all came close to having Lonnie's "people" rescue our kids at one time or another...LOL!!

Dee- DON'T JUMP! I think our daughter's "switched" their letters...LOL! Are they playing a "trick" on us?? I have gotten those kind of letters and phone calls since she has been in bootcamp and if I have not "jumped" or had Lonnie's "people" rescue her by now....your recruit will be fine for one more week :-) Glad she is going to your house for Thanksgiving...but I thought she was a Grad-n-Go?? She's probably going right across the street and thought that made her a Grad-n-Go...lol. I guess I'll find out soon enough. It's a good thing that I didn't change any plans yet.

Holly- I didn't get a call last weekend and didn't hear of any family and friends getting any calls. I too have the time issue thing and can't get on in the daytime with everyone else unless it's early in the morning.

Hey Moms - I hope you don't mind me popping in on your group here. I just realized you had your very own page and weren't part of the discussion groups on the 11/12 page - DUH am I slow or what?

So anyway, I have 365 & 366 down for BS21 on this Thursday 11/4....have you guys gotten an firm confirmaiton on this?

Okay, so the Halloween candy helped. And of course hubby grabbing hold and yelling.. "don't forget, she IS still XXXXX". And hate to admit it, he is right. (sigh). Although our kids have changed and grown and become so much more responsible & mature, they still ARE young adults or even by my standards, kids. They aren't changing their personalities but rather than reactions or interpretation of things. She has ALWAYS been backwards in a way and has gone about things completely opposite of most. Sooo as you all are getting the "Hot darn, it's Bad Ass" and "get me this and this and this" and the humor, which is what I got pretty much from the start, after the VERY emotional 1st call, I now get THIS. And as hubby pulled me off the ledge he also said. "do you really think the Navy is going to change their mind about her now? One week before she is done?". So yes, my paranoid, over emotional in times of stress daugther got to her old mom. Darn I HATE when she does that.. LOL

So thanks Lonnie for making me laugh this early in the morning, thanks ladies for your words which make realize that they are still the goofy, demanding, opinated kids that we kissed goodbye 2 months ago. (group hug)

And Holly, I didn't get a call.. THANK GOD! Cause the mood my recruit is in I would have called Lonnie's "people" to go do a rescue.. LOL.. But, I have letters and all I have to say ladies I hope you have already started to pray this week. Hope your blue candles or Welcome lights are already on this week. For remember, they do have cleaning duty for the new recruits days before graduation.
