My cousin just finished A school and came home last night. It was a surprise to the whole family (I knew she was coming and I am the one that got to pick her up from the airport):) At least she got to greet my son before she headed home! Hope everyone is doing well!

@Floss- I know that some of the girls from the Div. are there but she hasn't said anything about any of the guys...was just wondering. She will be there for three more weeks too and go to WA. What is his rating?

Ladypinkhatter- my son is still in GL. He will be there for 2 to 4 weeks, then he goes to SD, CA. He likes it because he has a little more freedom especially after 4 til lights out

It's nice to see everyone's Sailor is getting settled in...is mine the only one still in GL. She is trying not to get to comfortable there because she will go to her duty station (or whatever they call it...now it seems like we/I have to learn a whole new language...lol) in three weeks. It was rough at first...she was still homesick, didn't want to go to shore duty, etc. but she has called home everyday so far and it seems like the more she calls home the better she sounds.

Kelly- I got the same laundry call last night too. What type of detergent do I buy? I also reminded him of what he could wash and what had to be dry cleaned. He bought himself a trac phone until his phone could be shipped to him. We have gotten several calls from him since we left. I am so glad communication is less restricted.
He told me him and his bunk mate failed their room inspection. Your trash can cannot be no more than half filled and theirs was.

Ok ladies, my son is officially landed in A school! It was so awesome because my cousin was there to greet him (she hasn't saw anyone from the family in 3 mos)! He said it is alot more relaxed there and warmer too:) Doing good!

Hopefully this group will stay in touch. At least pop in on the board every once and awhile. I too thought overnight liberty was a blessing and a curse. You make it through BC counting the days to see them, I guess mentally I thought he was coming back home, only to have to leave them again. Good thing is phone calls are more frequent. He will be leaving for Cal. in Dec. He wont be home for Christmas or Thanksgiving.

Was so glad to meet everyone that I could track down this past weekend! lol It's funny, although I didn't get to meet any of your kids, I easily picked them out of the Division picture because they looked like the moms that I met!! My son doesn't leave GL until tomorrow morning at 2am, it was very hard to leave him there. I agree with Ladypinkhatter, it was definately a blessing and a curse! You're so proud of them and what they've acomplished but leaving them behind was emotionally hard! It was so wonderful to meet most of you though, hope all of your children are getting settled in and doing well:) I am also on facebook!

@ladypinkhatter glad to know someone was stalking me!! I hope you were able to tell the difference between my sister and I! Actually my profile pic looks the same now, I just had my hair cut off again. People often think we're twins.
I didn't get any good pics with my sailor! Everyone kept butting in, especially the gf! Not happy about that! We had a great time with him, we ended up leaving Sun morning because his gf was staying and I was getting an epidural on my back today. I've been much more depressed about leaving him this time than when he left for bc! Guess I realized he's FINALLY grown up and doesn't need me anymore. I haven't been able to talk to him since I got home either. Probably because he's talking to gf!?! She's absolutely smothering him! Oh well, he said he'd be home in december so I'll have some time then.
Hope everyone stays in touch!
