I am waiting back for her reponse next week Tuesday.. if she writes. I have been researching this pretty extensively and it looks like they can have them but I have been having issues with what kind of packaging. So like I said in my past post. I'm jsut sending her one brand new pair (because they are already in solution) in my very last card to her. Which will be next week Wed.

Still no letter, I'm in Indiana, don't know why my letters take so long, ughh!

@ Dee- Is it okay for us to send their contacts? I'm sure my son is tired of the BC glasses too!

we couldn't figure it out anyway..... :O)

Kelly- Don't stop sending your son letters! Its their only link to us. He'll make it. We got a N4M prayer chain going. And if you can't vent here, what's the use of the site?! I for one would like to meet your son so I can tell him how proud we are of him. And, no phone calls yet. We will get one more though. I'm sending you a ciber hug ;) Hang in there!

Dee- It's okay to use the "democracy" line. It's personally one of my favorites that best sums up military life. Especially bootcamp. He doesn't have contacts, he has glasses and he has them with him. He was aloud to wear them in the grad pictures. He hates those heavy BC glasses.

PIR 11/2/10 is talking about having a banquet hall @ the Ramada. And we, here, all 13 of us, said we were meeting @ the bar. ?? And is it okay Holly to just talk about the meet & greet here or do you want us to keep that conversation seperate? .

Hey, I had to do a bit of therapy last night :O)..... made a tribute video for our PIR. It was approved but I can't figure out how to get it linked on the PIR forum or even here.

Guess I could just say "hey take a look at my video page at the tribute video for our PIR recruits" (shrug)

Here we are yet another day closer....

Letz... TOO funny! My oldest was BIG into airsoft, did overnights in tents and forest preserves etc. LOTS of military folks get into the hobby. But I am STILL, after 4 years, finding those darn BB's in corners! But have to agree, some of those video games do give them skills. I tried to play one of the shooting games and it got me so aggravated because I realized just how uncoordinated I was.

Floss: heyyyy what happened to girls going first..LOL.. My daughter did not get her orders yet darnit. Just wondering if my youngest will be spending his 17th birthday (PIR weekend) in the airport seeing his sister off. :O) And LOVED the democracy comment your son made. Made me do a yep..yep.. yep.. I hope he doesn't sue me for copywrite infringement because I put that as a favorite comment on my FB page.. :O) And coke bottle glasses. Yep, mine too. So are you sending his contacts during the last week? I'm still on the fence about when to send them cause I'm just sending her one pair in her regular mailed card. Figured if they have to open the "bulky" ones in front of their superior, I'm sure they won't take them away this late in the game.

Kelly: don't apologize for venting.. it's why we are all here. To support eachother and our recruits. But don't listen to people that say don't write. EVERY recruit has made it known both past and present that those letters as short, long or silly as they may be are what they look forward to.

And I, like Floss, can't wait to see all of you in person!

Daily weather report: COLD!!! High 48 degrees. Right now 41. No sun, Still VERY windy.

Ya know, I think I'm just as excited to meet you all as I am to see my son! This site has been a blessing! 8 weeks and we will have been on one rollercoaster of a mental ride. Sharing all the positive and negitive about bootcamp.

Kelly- Tell you son that there is no "I" in team. We are praying for him and I am possitive that he, out of 80 recruits, is not the only reason for them not passing. Tell him not to give up. He's almost done! I can simpathize with you on how it kills me not to be able to be there for him when you feel he most needs you. Tell him to find the kid from TN with the exta thick coke bottle glasses, and ask him to help him in what ever he needs help with or if he needs someone to vent to. My son is shy, but he will gladly help in anyway he can.

letzfly- In my letter he wrote"streaming" and he said that if they passed that they didn't have to go everywhere with the RDC (recruit division commander). He told his little brother that if you thought mom and dad where strict, join the navy! His next line was"we protect democracy, we don't practice it" I'm glad his humor is back. I aught to tell him one night to stand in the middle of the room and ask how many recuits moms are on N4M. That way maybe they could rally around each other and compare notes too.

Dee- Accutally, he has only shot a gun a handful of times. I was soo suprised about how well he did.

We still don't know about his job as a AO. They got their "official orders" and according to his orders, he is still an AO and is to report to FL. He said he asked 2 RDC and one said his change hasn't come in yet and the other one said to go by the "official orders". So, as of last week, he is still an AO.
He was joking about halloween and said that he was going to dress up as a Navy recruit, he said in fact everyone was dressing up a navy recruit.
