I found his Navy backpack in his closet and inside I found a Navy for Mom's postcard! I'm sending it to him! Back when he got it I never knew what it'd mean to me!

I guess all of the countless hours he spent playing video games, while I pleaded for him to go out and do something else, paid off for him now! I HATE listening to them sitting in there shooting at those games! As far as I know, he never shot any firearms before. Of course, that's somewhat naive for me to believe too. Although we didn't have any guns at home, I suspect they found a way to try them out with friends. I didn't even like airshot or bb guns! That was more because of finding the bb's all over!

missed Holly's Grad n Go comment. thanks for that one. I didn't understand what she meant when she said "the glance means grad and go". It's that darn writing around the edges..LOL.. I think than that mine might be a Grad and Go Florida. Hey, Saturday party @ Ohare, wing 5. :O).

With all of us posting it's hard to follow!! Lol.

letz: Yes, they can only write on sundays but if you get more than one letter in the envelope that means they are writing, ummm, "on other occasions". they than seal/stamp before Sunday lunch and put it in some kind of bag or box. All recruit mail gets sent out that night/early morning. They RECEIVE mail as it comes in, which could be every day! And No, Lady and mine are not the only two girls in the division but Lady is right, I think there are only a handful in 365. By putting the letters together I'm counting 5-7. Could be counting the same girl twice though..LOL

Holly, great explanation on the marksman. My recruit has her gun card, goes to the range with her dad, but see, doesn't matter. Hence a nice extra for a recruit to get from boot Camp .

Kelly: As much as we try to figure out when they are going to BS we never will know correctly. We will know when we get that call, which will most likely be in the middle of the afternoon, when they HAD it. So just keep that blue candle burning from Nov 1st until the call. :O) My luck, they will do it on Halloween before I even unwrap the darn thing.

Are there only 2 girls in the division? I didn't understand that, why would only one have to pass for them to get the flag?
Ugh oh, I don't know anything about Marksman!?! It deserves bragging rights? Someone please fill me! Don't want to miss an opportunity to brag!
Do they only get to mail letters once a week? I've only gotten them on Wednesdays. Usually a couple different letters in one envelope.

Dee- LOL....I was thinking the same thing and then I thought what if it was one of the other two girls that I have been sending cards too as well.....one thing for sure, no matter which girl it is they will help each other! HooYah!
Comment by Diana on October 27, 2010 at 9:54pm
LOL.. wonder if that girl your son talks about Letz is mine or lady's ...
Comment by Diana on October 27, 2010 at 9:52pm
just great Letz! So now we found the other Marksman. :O) Bragging rights for sure! My recruit said the same thing about the weight gain. she said it's the darn peanut butter that they eat on everything. I so can visualize the T-shirt design. He described it well! LOL... the writing in the margins made me laugh cause mine does that too. it's the timing issue I bet. Just write where you can. Thanks so much for the update!

and Lady what a great idea. My pile of daily cards is dwindling down and I'm going to miss sending them.
