I am making what I call "a personalized Battle Station 21 encouragement card" for our recruits and I am signing them from "Proud Navy Moms of Division 365". If you would like for me to send your recruit one send me a PM with your recruits name.

Letzfly- Wow! Thanks for the update! That was a really informative letter and thank you for sharing. I'm glad to hear they are coming together as a team!! Hopefully I will get a letter from my recruit tomorrow.

I got a letter today. I'll try to decipher some to share. Do they need more writing paper?!?! He writes on the margins, everywhere, it's hard to follow!
He said at first they had a hard time working as an integrated division because they can't socialize or get to know the girls the way they can with the males. But finally they are getting it together! They earned the zone flag, drill flag with independent "stearning" (can't read that word?!?) they have a chance at the academic flag tomorrow, and athletic flag if one of the 2 girls passes "PJA" can't read. He scored as a marksman so he gets a bar on his chest. They got photos taken and they look great! He gained 12 lbs all muscle. Their T shirt motto is "droppin Warheads on Foreheads" with a picture of a skull with a nuke going into its head with the world in the background and a mushroom cloud. It says 365 and their RDC's on it. "It's really badass and looks really professional" He had an important test on seamenship, conflict of arms, equal opportunities and small fire arms. He said he'll do fine. His bunk mate is Adam from NY and he's one of his closest friends. He got his orders, GL 11/22-1/21 then Point Loma Ca 1/23-45. Doesn't know about C school yet. Since he's grad n go, he listed 10 things he wants along with the suggested graduation gifts, IPhone, laptop, etc. Ha! Somethings never change!

Kelly- Your son will make it! They're finally pulling through as a Division!

Kelly! Don't EVER apologize or think your son is solely responsible for something that shouldn't even be an issue! The other moms can say and comment in their words but NEVER would I EVER hold one person responsible for the lack of a phone call! For your son to even take full responsbility of something like that shows his growth in maturity. God how I wish we could have a group hug right now. You need it, your son needs it and heck I need one too. :O) Remember Kelly, and please write this to your son, Failure is NOT an option with our US military. They are LEARNING something that majority of the adults in todays society don't know. How to work TOGETHER. I can honestly say that your son is NOT being pushed away from his team. They ARE helping eachother. My daughter told me that she is greatful for another female who taught her a great memorizing skill. Kelly, your son needs to keep going because he has already proven his strength just by signing on the dotted line and walking across that hallway back on Sept. 15th! Breath and pray Kelly and know you have our support.

Floss89- congrats on the marksmanship! HooYah!

Dee- LOL!! You are so right. Have my cell phone with me at ALL times and yes at work in front of computer and as you can see...checking in here periodically..LOL!

Kelly- no need to apologize...our recruits are a team and so are we! We are praying for the whole division. I believe he will be fine. I have been getting those kind of letters from my recruit ever since she has been in bootcamp and the "Moms" here tell me that they vent to us....if they can't vent and express their fears to us....then who can they vent to? We need to keep encouraging them and praying for them! They have made it this far....I am believing they all will make it to graduation! Keep the faith.

Kelly. not sure if there is a different, special inspection but they get an inspection every Friday. That's why they got that call to us that one Saturday. The entire division passed. Hmm.. wonder if there is a special one this Friday. Keeping my fingers crossed for all of them.

my mom got a letter today. He took his shooting courseand said that only 2 people in his class got expert marksmen and he was one of them. I am so proud of him! He is worried about his PT. He failed the last one by 5 sec. He's worried about failing it because it would cause us to change our travel plan.
Kelly- I think it's his bunk area and clothing but I'm not sure.

All of you ladies make me smile.. The rolling of the eyes and full garbage cans from Holly and the texting wizards we call our kids from Floss and Lady. It makes my work day go by a little faster when I see each of you commenting. My boss thinks it is hilarious how I have my cell phone plopped up on my computer "just in case" a call comes in from my recruit. But yes, girls do tend to write more. Come on.. look at all of US writing in a forum instead of doing laundry or our responsbility on our jobs or even taking the garbage out from our kids rooms that have been gone now for over a month.LOL. So yes, I'm glad she is writing what she does to help fill in some blanks. But remember, if she writes about stuff I share with all of you I'm sure all of you know there is more in her letters that by having boys you are lucky enough to NOT get. Lots of emotion in her letters. Lots of retrospect. Lots of "in this journey" stuff. But I will take the good with the bad because in the end, it helps all of us in one way or another.

And your daily weather report... Sunny, 54, high winds. And yes Holly, I agree with you, just more clean up for the recruits.
Comment by Floss89 on October 27, 2010 at 9:55am
Dee- thanks for the weather update and the review. I think girls are more detailed about their info.
I had to clean my recruits room and pack his stuff because his little sister wanted his room. He was suppose to do it before he left, but you know how that goes.
I was searching on line and I found that 365 and the sister div is doing BS on nov 4th. I wrote my son to see if that is correct or not. Hopefully next week I'll hear something.
My son would rather text as well and you can tell it in some of his letter how he abbreviates. I think he truely even misses his brother and sister. I know they miss him. He did tell me in one of his letters that it was like living in isolation because they don't get to watch TV. He said the only time he got to watch TV was when he was at the dentist getting his wisdom teeth cut out.
