Worried!! I received my son's call last week, he was really homesick and had hurt his knee (they had put him on crutches), but had given them back so he wouldn't have to go to medical? I haven't received any mail this week and I know he would write if there was anyway possible. Just wandering if maybe any of your letters might say anything about him?

I got the idea from the other moms in the PIR group. I personalized and sent some of the questions from the questionnaries posted in the discussion forum (by JessicaB) with a SASE and put inside all of the cards. The one sent to the person not getting mail is addressed to "Seaman Recruit" with a sticky note for my daughter to give to anyone not getting mail.

Also, one of the questions that I put on the form is "What is your favorite TV show" that way I could google a recap of the episode, then copy, and paste in a letter and send each week (which is what we do for my daughter).

Kelly- if you e-mail me your son's name, I would be happy to write him. I have a whole bunch of stamps...LOL!

I asked her if she could give me names of any recruits that aren't getting mail but there were no names in her last letter. I too think ladypink's idea is perfect! Hey if she is already getting bulky envelopes why not make them a bit bulkier.. Cool! I get to go do more card shopping!!!!

ladypinkhatte- That's a great idea! I think I'll send a couple of extra cards in an envelope that he can give to who he wants to or who ever doesn't get mail. That will give the other SR's someone to write to if they want.

I can't wait to get home and see if I have any letters.

Dee- LOL...I just mailed three cards in one envelope (one for my recruit, her bunkmate, and anyone who is not getting mail) and it's a little bulky.

Floss89, Jordan and Proudmom- Letters! That's great!

Kelly- I hope you get a call soon. Hang in there!!

My daughter said the same thing about the music. She said her bunkmate sings all the time and so it's like her own personal IPOD. She said the letters are coming in VERY slowly..

Lefty.. I was getting excited as I read your dog conversation..... and than darn.. not my daughter. :O( Her dog is a min-pin named Benzie and she said in her letter about how they need to open their mail in front of autority when the letters are "cushy/bulky" how it would funny if Benzie jumped out barking and running around under the bunks.

I got 3 letters. He was more up beat in this set. No, the group is still not working together and we have several talkers.
The china resturant is fish sitting for Brian, he has and Oscar and I was afraid I would kill it.
No Aussie just 2 mutts and a cat.
He said recieving mail was better than Christmas. I have to agree with him on that.
Welcome Jordan.
