I received 2 letters today. Both in the same envelope, one dated 10/6 & 10/7, it was postmarked 10/11 which is strange since it was a federal holiday.
He didn't get any mail until 10/6. At least he's finally getting some!
He told me about talking to a girl in the division about how much he missed his dog. She missed hers too. He said they were both getting teary eyed. Then he asked what kind of dog it was and it was an Austrailian Shepard just like his! It made his day to meet someone that could relate exactly to how he feels!
Any of you mom's dog sitting an Aussie?

Today is letter day !!! My mom called and she got a letter from my son today. In his letter he said things were getting better but he missed the little things like music. He wants to go into Chicago to try a Chicago style pizza. So I guess we are eating pizza one night. 4:00 can't get here soon enough so I can go home to check the mail!

My daughter/recruit is going to Pensicola too! And so did one of those sailors I mentioned. He actually stayed in A school/Pensicola just shy of 4 months because of classes not being full. He said there was lots of down time "waiting". All depends on their career path.

I really was wanting him to start A school right away ( just not the next day) so that he will be home for Christmas for his 10 days leave after school and before he is shipped out. His A school is in Pensicola, FL. They still have to stay in Great Lakes even if they don't ship til after Thanksgiving. Right? Do we get visitation rights if so?

Well by looking at the dates of Thankgiving this year, I'm not sure any of the A schools will start until after the holiday. I am lucky enough to know personally two young and respectable sailors, that both graduated in Nov.. isn't that weird.. and neither left for A school until AFTER Thanksgiving. They both have told me that A School is an intense version of a Associates Degree program. I wonder if we from Division 365 could be so lucky as to have our recruits home for Thanksgiving. Wishful Thinking...
