Hopefully with encouragement the group will come together. It was very exciting to hear that my sister (here in this group known as floss89) received two letters from my nephew.

Holly- 17 letters? She has 17 letters from your recruit? And I thought I was doing good with 2...lol. Thanks for the info and thank you and his girlfriend for sharing. I'm starting to sense that if it weren't for you ladies on here I wouldn't know a whole lot...lol.

We are staying at the Motel 6 between the RTC and the Ramada.

NavyAunt- welcome to the group.

I have been talking with Kelly and her son didn't have a phone card or stamps with him, she had mailed them in his first letter which he had not gotten when they wrote on Sunday or when they called on Wednesday so hopefully they have gotten their mail by now, so hopefully she'll hear from him soon! I sent my son extra phone cards and stamps so he can share if anybody needs them.
@ladypinkhatter-thanks for the clarification on the "brother division"

I found out the significance of the "brother division" (Div. 366) from JessicaB and she said "Each division (except the 800 and 900) have brother divisions...they train, eat, study everything but sleep together. They'll go through BS21 together".

Holly- I was thinking the same thing; trying to figure out how to "check on" (so to speak) Kelly's recruit.

Kelly- I agree with Holly, please do not post his name on here but send private message any of us if you want us to check with our recruit.

Floss89- Thanks for the history of the ship. My daughter is not the only female in the Division, she has a female bunkmate and I don't know if there are others in the Division but she said there are about 60 females on the ship. She did say that there were some helping her to study and she was grateful but didn't say who they were.

Kearsarge- was a Mohican-class sloop of war best known for the defeat of the Condederate raider USS ALABAMA. It was named for Mount Kearsarge in New Hampshire. It was lauched Sept. 11 1861.
