Hey can we order ribbons for family and friends that are unable to attend PIR? I can't go and I don't think that my husbands family is going to be able to either but we would love to have ribbons.

Thanks much!

DEERS is the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System. It is what our husbands or wives enroll us spouses and kids into for Tricare health insurance and such. It also is needed to help us get our Military ID's so we can go on base.

I just received my DEERS info in the mail. No letter from my husband, but his handwriting on the outside of the envelope and his signature on the forms inside made me smile....

Too funny Bellaboo2u! We all might need to purchase wigs instead of ribbons! Oh i hope he knows my boy! I don't care if he talks randomly or not! lol This might sound stupid but what is DEERS?

Jmom - I understand trying to stay busy! I have become to hate the weekends and love the week because I am so busy at work till I don't have time to think about it as much!

I don't care what color the ribbons are just need to decide if we want to do them! lol Hopefully we will get a letter later this week! I am afraid if I don't you may hear about me on the news as the crazy lady they caught peeking through the fence!! lol I just need something to let me know what he is doing and how he is doing! I am not to worried about him being homesick just want to know he is ok! But I guess No News IS Good News! Well I am off to a football game and it is like 100 degrees outside! Ughhhhhh... Hope you all have a great night!

Hey Kids and Kittens,
I am patiently waiting...that's all we can do, right? Ok so I am impatiently waiting, none the less...waiting. Toe tapping, pacing, slowly balding from pulling hair out? lol I got the cheezie form letter with his address and PIR info. I was lucky enough to get a call from the credit union letting me know that he was there and the accounts were opened and to be on the look out for paperwork. That was last week...still waiting for that. I hate snail mail. Send out 4 letters to him this week that had been building up. A plethora of emotion in them from I miss and love you to I hate you for leaving me here to deal with all this crap, lol. Murphys Law has been working his magic over here and it is a nightmare. Either way, I could hear him yapping away in the background and with the amount he was talking, I could tell he is just fine. I feel bad for the teller, he wouldn't shut up, lol!!! It was great I was laughing the whole time. He yelled "You're signed up with DEERS, look for the packet in the mail!" Geez, he could have just told her to tell me, poor girl. In any case, I am waiting on snail mail and hopefully a call this week or early next week. Chances are all your kids know my husband as the guy who talks and talks about really random stuff, he's a walking episode of Seinfeld. Haha!
