i3randie - I know that my son has Saturday (or at least he did when we talked last week). It all depends on where they are going for A school and when they have to report. Also, they have to take their turn having watch over the weekend so they may not have the whole day, may have to be back early etc. Wish I could give you a definite answer.

Laundry and packing tonight. Work tomorrow. Have to be at the airport at 5:15AM on Wednesday. We land in Chicago at 9:45 so I will probably miss the "I'm a Sailor" call if they get to make them. I am so excited I can't stand it. Can't wait to meet all of you. Can't wait to see my son, the "sailor". I hope everyone has a safe trip. I will see you either Wednesday night or at PIR on Thursday. Can't believe it is here. Just having all of you to share with and listen to has made this go by much faster than it would have without you. Prayers and Hugs to everyone. We've almost made it. I'll be praying for the guys tomorrow during BS and for all of you as well. Good night and sweet dreams!!

Robsproudmom: I am sorry to here that your sailor will be leaving early. Thankfully he isn't grab and go. How much do I owe you for the 10 bracelets?
*Are you ladies planning on staying for the whole time of the M&G. I will be getting there around 6:30 and I'd really love to meet you all.
Proudmom2be09: i completely understand. I visited friends in Chicago and it was only an hour away. I know that is farther but I can imagine how your heart aches to be that close yet so far. Rest easy we will be with our loved ones before we know it. Can you believe we are already this close...I can't! Time really flew.

One more thing to all who's sailors that might be flying out before you leave GL/Chicago. I have seen suggestions on Navy4Moms about meeting them at the airport to sit with them while they wait for their flight. I have read that they take all to the airport at the same time each day, regardless of flight time. It stated that you can get a gate pass if your sailor meets you at the ticket counter, and everyone has id. This will allow you to go thru security. Oh and dont forget to ask them what airport they are flying out of, there are two...O'Hare and Midway.

Robsproudmom: you made my heart skip a beat. My son thought they would be flying out Wednesday for DC...when did you hear from him last? I guess we should count our blessings either way, better than grab n go....ridiculous that I am disappointed...I get to see him regardless in less than 3 days! Safe travels for all, I am fortunate to live 4 hours away and wont be leaving until Wednesday. Trying to keep my self busy!

I don't know for everyone but I know my son said when he was staying in GL that they had Monday for Liberty as well but that one of those days he would have to stand watch for a little bit. But now that his orders have changed HE WILL BE LEAVING GL ON THE 4TH FOR DC NOW

I made it to my hotel today!! Here's to the next 2 days/nights of anxiously waiting! I got to pass by the base today on my Metra ride and I got so emotional...it was hard to be so close yet so far away. I hope all of you have a safe journey here!

I couldn't get the schedule website to open. Has anyone else had any luck with it? I can't believe we are flying out in 2 days! I'm so excited to see my little brother!
