Thank you Teresa and Robsproudmom. I don't understand girls these days either! Your right though...thank god he found out now. My heart aches for him but he's a strong guy. He managed to stay focused and got a 97 on his test friday!! Yay! There is a lot for our boys to experience so I hate to see them rush into marriage at too young of an age too. Hugs to you all and thanks so much for your kindness. I really miss you girls!

tmasters - sorry to hear that. My son told me about it the other day. I hope and pray everyday that my son will meet his soul mate like docsangel's son and I'll hope the same for yours. Don't understand the girls these days. They'd rather have someone that treats them bad than have a good guy.
Hugs to you and Boots!. Teresa

Hi Ladies- Sounds like everyone is doing well. My son is doing very well in A school. He has all his privilages and left base with a few guys, went to a concert, stayed the night...they had a real fun time. Came just in time too.....Wedding is off, ring is being returned, etc. Let's just say she couldn't handle being faithful while he was in boot camp.....so she sure can't handle it if he was out to sea, etc. His heart is broken but he is a tough guy and has lots of support at home and at A School. I'm thankful he found out now instead of after the knot was tied! Yikes!! Miss you all!!

Hello Ladies! I hope everyone is doing well. Justin has phased up and now has the privileges of wearing civilian clothes and leaving base on his weekends off. He's pretty excited about it. The MWR offers excursion packages at discounts and he's buying tickets to go to New Orleans this weekend to watch the Saints. He'll have a blast. We are going to visit him in Gulfport at the end of the month and he should be able to stay with us all weekend by then. I can't wait to see him again! And...this mom will be getting a much needed massage & pedicure at the spa while there. =D

Thanks Robsproudmom - I do let everyone know that each sailors experience is unique and that the Navy dictates when and where they go, but I also know there are lots of "norms" for PIR weekends, but I was clueless as to how it worked for holiday weekends. Thank you SO MUCH, the mom's in PIR 9/2/2010 are thrilled to have received at least "some" info!

Hello ladies,
Glad I found you, I hope all of your sailors are healthy, happy and doing well in A-School. I know you miss your active PIR group, but it's A-School sooooo much better than boot camp! I love texting and skype'ing with my son almost every day.

I need some info to help some other groups. Your PIR date landed on a Thursday due to the holiday that weekend, so that factor can change some things. I have a few questions, could someone please help me?

1 - For Grads & Go's, did they fly out on Friday or Saturday?
2 - For G&G's over to GL A-School, did they move over on PIR day or on Friday? And, were they able to stay with you (even overnight) until Sunday or did you get to keep them until Monday evening?
3 - For those remaining sailors who were not G&G's, did they have Liberty all day on Fri, Sat and Sunday? Did they have Liberty on Monday too?

This will really help me assist some families who have G&G guestions that are graduating on Thurs 9/2. I will check this group tomorrow for an answer, I am hoping you are checking this often enough. Thanks in advance - so much!

Blessings!
Sobe

Hi Ladies, I'm feeling the same thing, I really miss all of you and I love hearing all of your news. I've been so wrapped up in getting ready for this wedding that I haven't even been checking my email. (Logged in today to find over 800, not including spam........) All of the plans seem to be in place, but it was only yesterday that he got permission to leave base.....so I waited to get a ticket then I had to scramble.
I can't wait to hear where all of our sailors end up on their first orders.
Toni, glad to hear Nick is rethinking his plan, sounds smart to me.
Teresa, thanks for all your prayers, I sure can use them, glad to hear Anthony is liking where he is, I'm praying that he will get some time with his boys before he has to report to his first duty station.
Nina, great news, my son now calls me now every time he passes a test too.

I was commenting to someone the other day who has toddlers, saying that some of this stuff with having adult children is more than I signed up for; they put that sweet, perfect little baby into your arms and all is right with the world............for about 10 seconds!!

Hugs and prayers to all of you.

I know what you mean Carolinagirl. I don't log in very much since nobody really seems to be chatting or responding. Sound like your son is doing well. Pepper srpray....yuck! My son is doing great. He seems to really like the Navy. School is good, he studies a lot. A bunch of the guys took him out to celebrate is 21st. Not sure about the wedding......he is feeling maybe they are rushing. He did pick his top 3 choices, but I know that's not a for sure. I will keep posting as I know more. I am so thankful I talk to my son several times a week. Usually in the evenings or weekend. He calls to let us know how he does on his tests, etc. Hugs ladies. Chat soon.
