Today is my son's 19th birthday. It's his first birthday away from home....he's doing fine but it's been a little sad for me. He's doing great in Gulport though and he'll get to come home in October. I can't wait.

Hi Ladies- I hope your all well. Sorry to hear fabnoble left. I did join another group for GL A school moms. I met another mom who's son just met my son. That's been nice. My son just proposed to his girlfriend after hearing he has a 50/50 chance of going overseas! It has been great to talk with him everyday...but I'm not sure I'm ready for a young marriage/wedding! Yikes! Hugs to you all! Glad to hear all your loved ones are settling in and doing well.

Hope everyone is doing OK. I see that a couple of Moms joined the Facebook page but there hasn't been any talk on there for awhile. I think maybe some of the guys are afraid to "talk" in front of us moms. :)
i3randie - I heard air crew was very tough, also. Your brother will land where he's supposed to be....sometimes it takes a little longer. Keep the faith!

I'm glad you've talked to him and hopefully every thing will work out for him. Good luck!

He called on Tuesday but I was in the drug store with my two little ones and didn't get to talk long. He said he basically quit the air crew and is now waiting to get moved to the other side of base. He also said that this means he won't be able to apply for a new job for a year which means instead of school he might end up on a ship in the next few weeks or months. I wish he have decided to change before it was too late. My dad tried to talk him out of special forces because he knew it would be tough. I guess we just have to realize that he is a man now and needs to make his own decisions wether they are the right or wrong ones. I'll keep you guys updated! Thanks again for being here!!
