A few friends of mine who have been through bootcamp said that after week three it gets easier...all of our sailors have made it past week three so things will begin to get easier from here on out for them :)

Carolinagirl125 (Ship 3 Div 233) -Thanks for the invite, I may take you up on it. I will be arriving at O'Hare at 1. However may be flying out after graduation, plans may not be working out, no point in staying longer.........

Robsproudmom- you may want to read some of the review of Red Carpet Inn from the moms who just attended graduation last week. Still time to change if you want to. I think most of us on this group are staying at the Navy Lodge, can't wait to meet all of you!!

I wasn't aware of the Navy Lodge but I am however staying at the Red Carpet Inn which was in the flyer and states it is a little over a mile away from base with shuttle service to and from graduation. i will be driving from long island, NY with my husband 2 daughters and my parents. We will be arriving in GL on the afternoon of the 30th and leaving on the 5th....

as far as I know no one has heard from him by phone yet. but thanks for the words of encouragement it is greatly appreciated. He hasn't mentioned anything about being sickthough. I hope he is okay and the others are feeling better. He did say they offered him ceremonial guard and he turned it down and just wanted to be an HM.His toes and feet went numb when they had to stare at the wall...he said he must do a couple hundred push ups a day.....

Yea I've heard some crazy stuff from my sailor about goofy punishments. He didn't mention anything about numb toes though. He said the group keeps making little silly mistakes- like talking when they aren't supposed too. The other day when he called he said on their way to where ever they call from someone in the group was talking or goofy off and they lost time off their phone call. He would of had 20 minutes to talk to me but he only had 10... He was pretty angry about it. He also said he had to write an essay about breaking a hanger- I couldn't imagine that!

You'd think those 4 boys would be afraid to go to sleep at night. :)

I have rec'vd no call yet i was starting to worry I have however recieived letters that have made me laugh and cry. My son tells me that he is okay but it would be really nice to hear his voice .He even wrotea letter to his little sisters . He told me about this sight and the group of moms on here . I heard his feet went numb from having to stand toe and nose to a wall while those 4 boys sang a song as punishment. This must be hard for all but we as moms can be very proud or the children we have raised. July 1st can't come soon enough for me
