tmasters: I felt the same way when I received one of the letters, but then the next one came and it was like the letters were written by two different people. Don't forget, they have to be tough all day and when they sit down to write, that's when all the emotions come out...good and bad. And, let's face it, no one understands and listens like MOM and we don't judge :) My son wrote that he knew they were holding mail and was pretty sure that by this past Monday, mail call will start....I'm guessing the guys are reading their mail as we type. :) Hopefully, a phone call will come this weekend and he can clear up the concerns that you have....I know I have a million questions ready. My husband's birthday is on Sunday....wouldn't that make a great gift?
fabnoble: Thanks for the updates on the RDC's. Sounds like a good crew!

tmasters: fabnoble is right, imagine how envious the other guys will be when your son gets a whole pack of letters, it'll make him soooooo proud of his family. As far as getting out, my older son said they do that to weed out the 'wimps'. We don't have any in our group, right? Hugs!!

Okay..I just got a letter and I don't understand at all. He hasn't rec'd one letter from us. We have written 17. He said he feels depressed because noone has writen :(. He said he misses us all. He's trying hard but frustrated. Then he said he has the chance to leave...but isn't taking it? Huh? Then in another paragraph he said good news...if I do really well at my job I will be in front for you Mom at graduation. So now I just feel so sad and confused...I've been crying...it's just terrible. If he only new how much we've written and how proud we are maybe he would be feeling better. I hear so much good...but wasn't detecting it in this letter :(

Im so happy we are connected, I didnt know of this when my older son was in the navy. I have a son in the Air Force I dont know of anything like Navy Moms to be connected to... I think our sons are in a great division, I told him that his "steps are ordered" and his placement would be "Divine" cant wait to meet you all! (he had two BC dates before leaving May 10)

Uh-oh....Is it OK for me to mention the Ship's name? Should I delete?
Comment by judymg on May 26, 2010 at 10:22pm
Fabnoble; my son said there were about 70 men in their division with an age range of 18-34.Their Ship is called the USS Hopper and is in the newest building on base and also houses another "brother" division (Div 232) on the other half of the buildling. Lots of healthy food choices...some good...some not.
