Carolinagirl125 (Ship 3 Div 233)- that's for sure, I can barely pass a flag without getting teary eyed. Happy Memorial Day!! Thanks for the encouragement. My son has an amazing heart I'm sure he will really look out for all of your boys.

Docsangel - I know that makes you feel a lot better. Glad to hear they are in a good group but what else would you expect. I think they've got good Moms. Hope to get another letter but we are leaving tomorrow to go out of town. I may have to wait until next week to get it. Hope you all have a great Memorial Day. I think it means a whole lot more now that we have kids in the military.

Hi Ladies!! I just got a call from my son's girlfriend. She said she had gotten two letters from my son and that he is doing good. He also said that this is an "awesome group" and work really well together !! She also said that my son was appointed as the leader of the group as "petty officer"!!!!!!!!

Yeah Judymg :). I just loved reading my son's letter it definitely made me feel better. He wrote like I was talking to him and he made me laugh. I am so glad he and you are feeling better! I am waiting impatiently for another letter this week :). I have been dreaming about my son everyday. Even took a nap over the weekend and had a dream about him. Docsangel I just sent user names in today's letter. Thanks for sharing :)

Hi Ladies;
Wow...what a difference a week makes.....got another letter today (apparently week 2 of BC). Seems like once all the processing nonsense was over, things definitely went uphill. Very glad to read that. He sounded like he was having some fun and was excited about some of the upcoming events......weapons training, etc. Passed all the necessary tests so far so that's good. Said he misses home but all is well. Just wanted to pass this on as my last post seemed a little "down".

judymg Ship 3 Div 233- have you sent your son these moms user names? I sent them to my son so they can know we are connected. I'm hoping that will help them a little and we can share info. Boys to men is apparently more difficult than they expected huh?

I received a long letter from my son and when I first read it my heart sank to my feet becaue there were a few things he wrote that made me feel that he was having some issues. My husband read the same letter and said he sounded tired but OK.....just letting off a little steam. He was also in the Navy and probably can relate better than me. When my daughter read it I asked her what she thought and she said not to worry....he knew what he was getting into and knows it isn't going to be easy and that she knows her brother and he'll handle it fine, and is probably going to be physically and mentally tired the first few weeks. Out of the mouth of babes! You know, when I read the letter a second time, it didn't sound so bad. All in all, it was great to hear from him! Can't wait for the next one.
