judymg Ship 3 Div 233- I don't know if you saw my earlier post about the Navy Lodge but you can book rooms under your son's name for only $65./night. That might be less expensive than the cost to travel two hours or more a day. Looking forward to meeting you.

Another thought: let your son know what your N4M user name is so we can let them know that we are connected (since we don't want to use their names on here). I'll tell my son that I have met tmasters, kylesmom, judymg, fabnoble, Carolinagirl125, momacharlie, ,tladams38 etc.

Looking forward to meeting you too. Wow, your lucky to be so close. My son will stay there for A school. At least we can talk on weekends after PIR. I am so excited to plan our trip!

Oh wow....I didn't know they had to be back at base each night. We're only about an hour away and was hoping NOT to have to book a hotel. Being that we're so close, I'm thinking my son will want to come home to see family (probably friends more). That means we'll have to make 2 trips each day. What we don't do for our kids!! :) He's also assigned at GL for A school. That was a real relief to me because we'll be able to at least visit him on a regular basis. I'm sure I'll pay for it after A school....he'll probably be deployed somewhere on the other side of the globe. My husband got the phone call yesterday and said he sounded great and let us know about the PIR date change.
Looking forward to meeting all of you lovely ladies.

I called the Navy Lodge (1-800-NAVY INN) As families of recruits we can stay there with rooms reserved under our their name, you can get up to three rooms under each recruit's name. The person I spoke to was really nice and she suggested that we book as soon as possible and to book as many days as you could possibly need. (it is easier to cancel days than to add on) The cancellation policy is very generous and allows you to cancel up to one day before arrival. I booked us in 6/30-7/5.

I will ask boot camp moms ;) They seem to know a ton!

No but I'll need one too if my older son can't make it.

I am still still following both. I had a really busy and emotional day yesterday and I am behind in reading everything. I did see a more seasoned mom say they had worn a color. We should all do it! I can't stay at the Navy Lodge but need to find out what is close to base. I think it is best to be closer to base. Do you have any recommendations?

I think we are going to try and stay at the Navy lodge, my older son who is active duty (recruiter in Alabama) is going to try and make it for the graduation and he can get us rooms there......still in the works so I'm still watching info on other places to stay if he can't make it.

tmasters- Are you still following boot camp mom's? One of the moms on there for another division is even planning on their group wearing a specific color(purple) for the graduation...

momacharlie- Welcome!!
