Drum roll please: My son just called me!!!

i3randie: sorry to hear how tough your brother has had it. Is he still at GL? My son is there for DC (Damage Control) and he said where he is is really relaxed, he's in a room with two other guys that have been there 3-4 weeks, but he sees most of the guys that stayed at GL almost daily.

i3randie: I hate to hear that about your brother. I hope everything works out for him and he gets to do what he wants. Best of luck.

I got to talk to my son twice yesterday. He said 5 of them from our Div. are there but none in his room. He said they buddy them up with guys who have been there a few weeks longer and there is constantly guys coming in and shipping out. Said his roommate were awesome and the barracks is great. They still do inspections, watch and muster, chow at the same time, etc. but not as harsh. He said he was busy studying for his next test. i3randi-will keep your brother in my prayers and hope it works out and gets easier. I wish the best to all of our children. Hope you are all well.

Well I talked to my brother last night from A school and he was pretty upset. He said that boot camp was a piece of cake compared to this. Said he had to run 12 miles yesterday and that the inspections are 10 times worse. He ran into some of the guys he flew down with at the NEX and they said they loved their program. He was gong to try to get things changed today and maybe start a new program. He doesn't think special forces are for him. He is going to try to change to fire fighting because he really enjoyed that during his training at GL. Please keep him in your prayers ladies!

Finally talked to Justin on facebook tonite. He got to Gulfport at 9:30 last night but his luggage didn't make it. Delta gave him a # to call but he didn't have his phone and there is no phone center there. Luckily we connected on facebook and I got all the info to make some calls. Found his luggage in Memphis, hopefully he'll have it tomorrow. Good news is he has his address already and I'm sending his phone, ipod and civilian clothes tomorrow. He said his room is really nice and he doesn't have any roommates yet. The whole room to himself....he's happy about that. I think "A" school is going to be much better than boot camp. :)

Tracey - I hope you hear something soon. My son was in the airport yesterday also. His flight left for San Antonio at 1:00. My husband got a call around 5:00 that he had made it to Texas but haven't heard anything since. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I don't know where my son is. He was supposed to fly out of Chicago at noon yesterday but his flight was cancelled. So then he was supposed to fly out at 5 pm scheduled to arrive in Gulport at 9:30 last night, but I haven't heard from him yet. I'm very anxious to know what's going on. Here's hoping I hear from him this evening.
