I am hoping to get a letter soon! I thought i would get one today but maybe monday
Not that this has anything to do with letters..but I got the weirdest phone call last night at 11:30! Someone called my husbands cell phone from an 847 area code...but they asked for my son (who is in Great Lakes)...it was really staticy and as soon as my husband said "he's not here, he's in basic", they hung up...then I noticed my cell phone had a missed call at 11:20PM from the same #...when I tried to call back..no answer...I googled the # and it was a land line from "Northern Chicago"...I was really worried and couldn't sleep all night..thinking something was wrong...I know this has nothing to do with any topic...but thanks for listening!
Crystal....wierd that you bring that up.After I went to my sosn's PIR a few days after I got home my phone rang at 2am with the 847 area code. Of course my heart went in my throat (even though he was G&G to P'cola) It was some kind of joke message. I called it back no answer, did a reverse search and it was a cell. I kept trying to call it in the mean while I got a few more calls fromthe same # in the middle of the night. I kept calling the # and finally someone answered it...and let me tell you that was not a good conversation. Some kinda punk had gotten my # (never would tell me how) and thought that it would be "funny" to call me.

I lectured this person for at least 30 minutes. I could not believe he/she didn't hang up on me. My husband and my dtr had to leave the room. I could hear them in the kitchen giggling.

If I were you I would continue to call the #...block your # so they won't know who it is. (Here that is *67, before you dial) and if they are a prank caller let them know that your son is currently in bioot camp and those kind of calls are unappreciated and inappropriate.
What a horrible feeling. I'm sure all is ok or you would know something by now. Hang in there and hopefully we will get the call we are waiting for soon!
Hi, Have you received an actual letter yet? My Grandaughter is in that division, I have only gotten the box and the form letter with her few comments (which I have read 50 times). Hopefully tommorrow, they say alot of them come on Wednesday and I am only about 6 hours away in Indiana so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Just hang in there ....letters are coming. He's probably thinking the same thing about YOU!!!
I thought I was the only one who still hasnt heard from my son!!! no letter,, just the form letter,, :(
JessicaB...I can't believe it...it was CRAZY...I am wondering how he got BOTH MY and My husbands CELL #s...I wonder if there is any way our #s are "leaked out"??? I did keep trying to call , but no answer...I'm gonna try to call and block my #...it has to be some kind of prank...but really suspicious
Yes, it sounds suspicious. There is no way RTC would call at that time of night. So somehow or another the # got out and someone is "playing" with you
We received a letter from our son on Friday 7/23. We are in AZ so we feel fortunate that we received it. Now if we could just get the call :)
Not yet! Maybe because I live in Tx, unfortunately. My son is in div. 297 on ship 11. He shipped out on 7/12 and in currently in BC in GL with a PIR of 9/2. I have not received any letters yet. I did unfortunately miss his phone call today!!!!!!!! (shucks). He spoke with his friend and stated he missed home. He is an overcomer and I know he is strong enough to keep himself together until we speek again, but I'm not too sure how I will hold up!!!! Does anyone know how often the recruits get to call home????? I miss him dearly. I realize he left home as a childish teen but he's now a muturing young man. We are so very proud of him!
