So bummed today:( Thurs is my mail day and no letters today. I really wish I could talk to him, he put one wrong name on the list of 4 guests and I wrote him 2weeks ago and told him to change it. Well I have no idea if he did or not. So I don't really know who is on the list, what do I do now?

congrats on the letters ladies and thanks for the update. Go Div 821!!

Per letter I got today, Div 821 is neck and neck with Div 947 for Hall of Fame. Go 821!!! Also said that he leaves for Pre-Buds on Oct 6th and will be in holding for a little bit till the next class. And the most shocking, he scored high on his DEP test he took during P-Days so gets advanced to E-2. That makes me so proud. After all the battles we had about studying, homework and the importance of those and then the frustration when the grades didn't reflect his ability or potential. Lets just say it's about time to celebrate. Today is a great day!

Reporting in. I got a letter and still no more phone calls.

He did not say much. He sounds tired, but I could be reading into it. One more week. Hoo Yah.

I agree pamom, a letter would be nice. Haven't gotten anything from him since I hit the letter jackpot last Tuesday. They must be keeping our guys VERY busy is all I can say. I too have given up hope for a phone call. I had heard that the 800 div would only get 3 calls: the I'm here, I'm a sailor, and one longer call somewhere in between those two. Some 800 divisions may occassionally get more, but not usually. Looks like the RDC in charge of our guys wanted to hold with tradition. LOL.
Hope everyone has a good day!.

Good Morning all,Happy first day of fall! although it is going to be 90 degrees here in PA again today. Here's hoping for letters this week! ( I have given up on hoping for a phone call, lol!) Impatiently waiting for that call next week!!!

Lydia you just boosted my excitement up 20x greater! I am even MORE excited to see my SR and his shipmates march through that door. Sent my last letter in today :( Tomorrow isn't going to be so easy. Taking a trip to the post office everyday has become my daily routine almost like breathing. I feel like I'm letting him down but we both know that it's neither one of our faults. At least we only have 9 days left :) We should all go to the M&G and support our boys (excuse me, our men) there. Not everyone is eligible for the 800 division!! and not everyone survives it either!!!

congratulations Lydia to you and your son, and thanks for the words of wisdom as we all pray for our SRs
