My son's PIR is 10/31/14. Would love to chat with other moms that have kids in Div 821.

Did u try the Navy Lodge. It's very reasonable.

I got my questionnaire back today. Highlights- the pillows are plastic, coffee is bad, and they get about 5hrs of sleep. He said it's like prison and a job mixed together. BUT he still said he was happy with his choice to join the Navy. So, I guess it isn't that bad. He said 'keep sending letters, they are like Christmas presents at the end of the day'. The letter in general is very upbeat and he's healed from the tooth extraction. Yay!

Thanks all for the support. We ALL need it cause we miss them soooooo much!!
Can't wait for PIR. Waiting patiently, or not, for the mailman to get here. I need a news fix. Has everyone got their lodging booked for PIR yet? We are having a hard time deciding on a place to stay. At this point, I would take a tent as long as it was a confirmed booking. LOL

I did get some mail yesterday from my son..what a whirlwind..phone call on Monday and Letter on Tuesday..what will today bring???
He says he is bored, things are going slow, says some of the guys aren't getting the "Marching" so they do it for hours on end...it is only thier 3rd week, so no guns until next week..but a physical test this week, like a PST...wishing all our sailors good luck!!

ok, so I know most of us had phone calls yesterday, but is it selfish of me to be hoping for a letter tomorrow too? agh! I cannot remember being so impatient ever! The waiting and worrying. Gaa! And something tells me that this is just the beginning.

I missed my call, but someone was home when he called here so at least I got to hear how he was doing. I had my cell at work, but for about an hour didn't have it on me and that is when it came in. He sounded good from what I heard. That was good to know.

karsonsMama- I feel for you. And definitely no, you are not a bad mom. Heck, you're on N4M staying involved as much as you can and we are here to support you. I missed the 'I'm here and okay' call. I cried so hard. So I know how it feels. Just keep writing those letters. He knows how much you love and support him.

Don't worry KarsonsMama...there will be more calls in the future. At least he got ahold of someone :) You're doing a great job as a mom by supporting him in every way you can!
Did any of them mention when they will get to call out again? I didn't get a chance to ask.

I feel like the worst mom ever!! I missed "the call"!!!! You can bet I won't miss the next one!!! He at least got to talk to his grandmother, he called her when he couldn't get me. ARRRGGGHHH. AND I had my phone with me I just didn't turn the ringer on after leaving work. So close, so close and my hopes were dashed. :(
