My son's PIR is 10/31/14. Would love to chat with other moms that have kids in Div 821.

thanks Tasha! We haven't gotten a call yet but maybe shortly. I have hope!

I went for a run last night for the first time since my son left. I feel so much better today. Think I was in a mini depression or something - guess it's time to put on the big girl pants and get back into the swing of things. I'm sure that those sad moments are still lingering about, but I refuse to let it rule my days. Thanks so much to all you wonderful women for sharing and supporting each other. My friends and family are great and have been supportive but for me, this site has been a blessing.

Hey ladies, I got a quick phone call this morning from my husband. It wasn't their normal phone call, they just needed my s.s.n so he got a chance to call and ask :) It was so wonderful to hear his voice. He said they received our letters but haven't been told to open them yet and they should be making phone calls out on Sunday! Hope this helps any of you! Have a good day everyone!

Hi, my son left for GL on 8/9 and I thought he'd be PIR on 10/1 but just got the letter that he's in division 822; just curious if anyone else had a kiddo that left then and is doing that 'extra' week, or is that 'normal' for 800 divisions?
I'm assuming that 821 'filled up' so that's why he was put in 822.
Thanks!

Anyone know why sailors leaving for basic on the same day would have grad dates a week apart? My son and a friend left on the same flight, have trained together for a year and I just talked to the other mom and her sons PIR is a week later. They both are Ship 4, mine is DIV 821 and hers is Div 822. Thanks! We're just curious.

ok, hope it's not just me, but is anybody else anxiously awaiting mail from their recruit? If there's no letter in the mailbox by Wednesday, I'm going to be really bummed. I have never been separated from my child for this long. Okay, he's not a boy anymore, but still, it's a long wait. It feels like forever since we left him at the recruiters office. Not even two weeks yet. The one takeaway that I have gotten from this experience is to cherish the moments we have.

Just booked our reservations. We are staying at Springhill Suites in Waukegan. I did find the prices are actually cheaper going thru Priceline instead of the motel itself...even with the military grad discount.

Okay, thanks for the info! I should be able to make it myself then. I wasn't sure if my husband would even find the time to get our reservations since he's busy in boot camp and everything. I will be sure to get that done right away before they start selling out!
