Hi, I didn't have any trouble making the reservations for my family to stay (my son is in boot camp). They asked for my son's name and pay grade. I had no idea what pay grade he was and they said that was fine. Got my email confirmation immediately following. 1-800-navy-inn. I called back just a few moments ago because I wanted to be sure. I talked to 'Bill' and explained we would be arriving the night before PIR and that my son would not be with us. He said that was fine and just to communicate this to the front desk when we checked in.

Wisconsin Mom- I wanted to book reservations at the Navy Lodge as well, but I was told my husband/recruit would have to make the reservations for us. Is that true or could I do it myself?

Good afternoon, everyone. Just wanted to drop a note to introduce myself and say Hi. I am so thankful I have found this website. It has been so helpful in so many areas for me so far. My son left for BC on Aug 4th and is in Ship 04 Div 821. I have not received any letters or heard anything from him so far...except for receiving the "boy in the box" and info letter. I guess, like they say, no news is good news. Hope everyone is having a good day....and like everyone else here I'm sure...can't wait until Oct 1st.

We reserved our rooms at the Navy Lodge. $65 a night and just 2 minutes away from Base. I can't wait till October.

I guess I will have to wait and see when he writes me a letter! I hope we all get one soon!

I got his "form" letter and box the same day...yes battery was out of phone, but in the box. YUGH cried like a baby!
His last phone call was to me!
(yes of course I checked, I pay the bill..LOL)
I think it would be great if we all met..because it is possible that they will stay together through out all this training.
Calvan...I am not sure how long any of us have that weekend. Some places I read they have to be back each night, then others said 48 hours..still waiting to hear from my son in a normal letter.

My husband said nothing about being a G&G or if he's staying. He'll be training for AIRR. Would anyone know about that? His family and I will be coming from Hawaii so we are not to sure how long we should actually stay.

This is an awesome site that all of us in sip 4 div 821 can chat, knowing that our sons/daughters will end up beinng life long friends as well.
My son is in for Seals as well I think all of 821 is Special Ops.
I am not sure if he is G & G, but I know he said something about having to stay at GL for his Mini Buds training and then off to CA for the main BUDS and Hell week....

Thanks MelGal, box arrived yesterday so maybe letter today or tomorrow. Our son has a SWCC contract, we were thinking he would leave for Cali within hours or days straight from GL?

Where are you all seeing the Oct 1 date? I am looking at the official Navy boot camp site and it is not listed there: http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp
