My daughter was sent to Ship 5 because she told them she was having anxiety the first day at boot camp and admitted that she had anxiety before but didn't tell the recruiter.
I am wondering if we can still send her letters while there or if we just need to wait for the sporadic phone calls. She is feeling very down about herself and although we are disappointed that this has happened we want her to know we still love her.

Thanks! She has only been at Great Lakes for 6 days so we haven't received the letter yet with any addresses. Does anyone know what the address would be for Ship 5?
How long does it take for them to get home? My daughter was send to ship 5 last week and is having a very difficult time and I am worried about her but can't get any information
http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/ship5/index.asp for more information on SEPS. Be sure to have your recruit sign paperwork with legal so that they will be able to discuss the situation with you if your recruit wants that to happen.
This link was sent to me and was very helpful....
I would personally like to say that I have anxiety, and until someone has experienced it they have no idea. It is one of those things like Diabetes that people think they know alot about but have no clue. I commend your daughter for being brave enough to be honest about this. My son is being moved tomorrow to Ship 5. I believe he has anxiety also.
What I cannot believe is how they talked to me and my husband on the phone. With my son on the phone one of the lady Captains that I could hardly understand her broken English says, "Wouldn't you be really disappointed and let down and not approve of your son if he did not finish basic and did not become a Sailor?" My husband told her absolutely NOT. This is his choice, it is his life to live. My son come to find out is just like his Daddy and is a family man and doesn't want to live his life saying goodbye to his family his whole life. I agree!
Please tell your daughter from me, I am a Deputy and some days are harder then others, but she will become a very successful person and I am proud of her!
