For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Anyone else with a loved one in THU side of Ship 05??
Son's PIR was 11/4. He moved to THU that afternoon. He will be spending Thanksgiving on Ship 05. (Maybe Christmas too if he's not moved on to A school). Anyone else in the same situation?

All he knows is that it is something from medical. Yesterday he had van duty and had to drive some guys to medical for appointments. I suggested he go and inquire about his status while he was waiting. He did and was told that the Dr. in charge of THU sailors will be out until Monday. At least now he knows where to go and who to ask for. A few days before battlestations, they called him in for an MRI on his chest. He has pectus excavatum (sunken chest) so they did extra tests on him (EKG and stuff) and he did fine. He graduated and on that day was told that he was to check in at THU the afternoon of the 4th (Nov.) He was told that he was missing a signature from medical and that most likely he would be moved on the week after graduation across the street to A school. As far as I know, he has not been called back to medical but is just waiting. I've encouraged him to keep asking about his status but he told me it is a little confusing. In BC he knew to go to his RDC but in Ship 05, he said different officers rotate in and he's not sure who to approach for help. He is working out with other scruffs and really enjoys the DiveMo training and intense workouts. He also is required to work in the office on phone duty some days and on other days escorts people to appointments. He said he doesn't have much free time during the daytime office hours to go and hunt down people to inquire about his situation since he is working every day. He has his cell phone so we are able to keep in touch some in the evenings. He sounds upbeat, even though he is missing out on holiday fun with family. Any help or advice you could offer me to pass on to him would be appreciated. Have a wonderful day!

He needs to talk to the person in charge of him and the time needs to be made for him to work on getting his situation resolved. That is the most important thing and the only reason he is there!

Did your son ever move on to A school or did they medically discharge him? My son also graduated from RTC and transferred to ship 5 for a medical waiver signature so he is in holding at THU waiting. The waiver was for a laproscopic surgery done the year before.
