My son should be moved to Ship 5 today due to an anxiety attack. Making his anxiety worse is not knowing the expectations while there.
He's been told it's extremely boring AND that they have some freedoms while there. Can anyone tell me which it is?
What is expected of him?
Do they run it in any way like when he was in boot ccamp?...the thing that helped create his anxiety?
Do they have access to movies/rv?

I'm sorry if this info is posted somewhere and I missed it...it's been a crazy stressful couple of days. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

My son has been there for two weeks and you have nothing to worry about. They have alot of freedom there. My son said its really relaxed there no boot camp there. They get to watch tv in the lounge they will get to call home often. He said all they do is eat & watch tv & clean. They even get to go on Facebook for $6 hr. So don't worry he will be fine. My son sounds great. I am sorry he is having anxiety. There is another lady on here who's son also has anxiety attacks. do you have faFacebook account? There is a support group on there for ship #5 & are very helpful. Hugs
Thank you so much!! I can't wait to tell my son, it should help relieve the anxiety he has about that.
i've searched for the FB group and it's not popping up. do you know the exact name so I can find it?
thanks again
Ship 5 sep if you can't find it look up my name Pamm Smith Gassaway send me a short message and I will add you to the group.
Hi navymama23, yes it is boring, they donate tv/movie time & get to call home on tue, thur & sun if they have a phone card. They can get on the computers & Facebook it cost them like $6.00 an hour. They still r still in the navy & have some ditties while in ship 5 but no drills or pt. I am part do a very good & supportive Facebook group called ship 5 SEPS great group very supportive & very informative. Anytime u post a question u get a very fast response. My som has been in ship 5 going on 3 weeks it is a slow process so pack your patiences. It is. Rey easy for the young men & women of ship 5 to get down also if your son is not yet sick good chance he will get sick in ship 5 so far my son has had pink eye, an ear infection & a cold that will not go away.
Thanks. I requested to join the group.
My son called about an hour ago, he's settling in and sounded ok about it possibly taking up to 4 weeks. That was NOT the case yesterday.
I feel so much better.
Thank you
