My son called Saturday and had no longer gotten the words " Hi Mom" out when someone in the background told him to get off the phone, and that he wasn't authorized to be on then. Did anyone get a call??

FRom My experience it took about 3 weeks to get home. And, they give them very little heads up about anything. One day you will get a call saying he will be home tomorrow. It is the longest 3 weeks of life I think. So sorry. Mine went to ship 5 and I didnt know what it meant until another mom told me it was medical sep. then I had to wait for a call to find out what happened and my son sounded so sad when he called and was only allowed a few minutes. torture for moms.

They get a bit bored there, but once they settle in, it's not THAT bad. They adjust and make friends. But there really isn't much to do but read. It's good if they can get some kind of job to help out and keep busy. Be sure to write lots and send magazines and books.
